Safetytech Accelerator announces collaboration with DP World Europe and IronYun to reduce risk in ports through AI video analytics.

Ports are extremely busy places – with cranes, lorries, and people in constant motion, the risk of accidents is high. Safetytech Accelerator believes that modern artificial intelligence and machine learning platforms can help reduce this risk, and is working with two pioneers in their respective fields to show how this can be done.

About DP World

DP World is the provider of smart end-to-end supply chain logistics across the globe, operating a network of ports and inland terminals across mature and high-growth markets.

The firm has an exemplary safety record and is committed to investing in digital innovation and technology across its business, including areas where it may improve the workplace and safety measures in place for its employees. They are highly committed to delivering their comprehensive range of services most safely and efficiently possible and therefore are an ideal partner in this collaboration project.

About IronYun

Vaidio’s flexibility of the platform will allow DP World to try multiple different solutions to improve safety

IronYun was selected for this collaboration, as their Vaidio™ platform supports a broad array of AI-enabled analytics such as intrusion, fall, loitering, smoke, fire, capacity, occupancy, PPE detection, and more.

Vaidio’s advanced AI includes video monitoring, safety alerts, health screening, and forensic investigation. The flexibility of the platform will allow DP World to try multiple different solutions to improve safety.

Improving port and terminal safety

Enoma Woghiren, Regional Head of Health and Safety, DP World says, “From operating world-class health and safety solutions to pioneering new technologies and ways of working, everything we do supports our goal of achieving zero harm to people, assets, and the environment. We are looking forward to seeing how we can further improve safety at our ports and terminals.”

Paul Sun, CEO, IronYun USA, says “The Vaidio platform is differentiated by speed, accuracy, ease of use, quick deployment and a truly broad array of AI analytics. It’s a perfect fit for this collaboration. We look forward to seeing the results of this pilot and the impact that Vaidio AI can make on the safety and efficiency of port operations.”

About the collaboration

Maurizio Pilu, Managing Director of Safetytech Accelerator had this to say about the collaboration, “I believe computer vision can provide breakthrough improvement in safety and risk management in critical infrastructure, and this is especially so in ports and terminals. We are very excited by this project as it will show how a flexible, modern computer vision platform can be applied in a variety of use cases, and we look forward to seeing how it progresses over the coming weeks and months.”
