At ISC West 2024 in booth # 10037, i-PRO Co., Ltd. (formerly Panasonic Security), a global pioneer in professional security solutions for surveillance and public safety, will showcase its newly released X Series camera line for the first time. Using AI onsite learning, the new X Series line enables users or integrators to teach the camera about specific objects they want to monitor. The revolutionary new camera line can also turn existing non-AI network cameras into AI smart devices.

Our most powerful AI camera to date, the X Series represents another industry first for i-PRO,” said Hiroshi (Huey) Sekiguchi, CMO, i-PRO Co., Ltd. “More edge computing power means operators can further customise deployments by teaching the camera to recognise unique objects of interest. This demonstrates our unwavering commitment to lead data-driven forensic search and alert capabilities that enhance our customers’ operational efficiency.”

Extending the life of older cameras

Processing AI on the edge provides instant responses for mission-critical use cases where every second counts

Attendees will see live demos of an X Series camera performing sophisticated object detection while harvesting descriptive AI metadata from multiple non-AI cameras and providing this data to a VMS. Processing AI on the edge provides instant responses for mission-critical use cases where every second counts. The AI Processing Relay is a cost-effective solution that improves existing surveillance systems and further reduces false alarms.

There are millions of network cameras installed, some of which are located in difficult-to-access areas, that don’t have any AI features. While it’s possible to send all those streams to servers for external AI processing, it can be much cheaper, faster, and more secure to process some of those non-AI streams using existing AI cameras on the edge. Older network cameras with limited AI integration to popular VMSs like Milestone, Genetec, and Video Insight can now achieve complete parity utilising this function and i-PRO Active Guard software.

Advanced AI on-site learning

ISC West visitors will see how AI on-site learning can teach the new cameras about custom objects

ISC West visitors will see how AI on-site learning can teach the new cameras about custom objects they wish to identify and search for or track. For example, operators could teach the camera to recognise a logo on a truck and send out an alert when it arrives at the loading dock.

A hospital could count ambulances arriving at the emergency room. An airport can track planes arriving at gates. These data-driven forensic search and alert capabilities, harvested directly utilising edge processing within X Series cameras, enable more automated workflows helping security teams to be more proactive rather than merely reactive.

NDAA/TAA-compliant cameras

This is the most powerful AI camera ever manufactured by i-PRO. We’re using the latest Ambarella AI CV52 SoC to raise the bar in what a surveillance camera can do,” said Adam Lowenstein, Americas Product Director at i-PRO. “Our goal is to provide our customers with unlimited flexibility when deploying unique applications that better protect assets, people, and property.”

The new X Series includes 16 new camera models including eight bullet cameras, four interior domes, and four exterior domes with 2, 5, and 6MP options plus 4K models. With a Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) of up to 144dB and IR illumination to 70 metres, image performance is unparalleled in all conditions. Designed and manufactured in Japan, the NDAA/TAA-compliant cameras support the highest level of cybersecurity with FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certification, secure boot, and GlobalSign digital certificates.

i-PRO sessions at ISC West

Cybersecurity at ISC West

Every i-PRO camera and network device is built with the most stringent cybersecurity features. At ISC West, i-PRO’s Senior Manager of Information Security and Data Privacy, Will Knehr, will be part of a panel discussing Cybersecurity 101: IoT Best Practices. The panel will take place on Tuesday, April 9th from 10 am to 11 am.

Antoinette King, i-PRO’s Director of Regional Sales East/Head of Cyber Convergence will be part of a panel on Cyber-Hygiene for Physical Security Projects: What Do You and Your 3rd Party Providers Need to Know? The panel will take place on Tuesday, April 9th from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm.

King will also give a presentation with Kasia Hanson on Critical Convergence: United Physical and Cybersecurity for Optimal Protection on Tuesday, April 9th from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
