Omnisys has launched its BRO (Battle Resource Optimisation) C-UAS system, a robust platform designed to assist airport organisations in addressing the escalating threat posed by unauthorised and hostile unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
The BRO system facilitates the development of data-informed, proportional responses to aerial threats, ensuring the safety of passengers while allowing airport operations to continue uninterrupted.
In recent months, airports across Europe and the US have experienced numerous shutdowns as a result of unauthorised drone activities. Incidents at Munich Airport led to two shutdowns within 24 hours, while Copenhagen and Oslo faced partial closures. The FAA has reported more than 100 drone-related alerts each month, highlighting the frequency of such events.

The BRO platform is designed to meet these requirements by optimising the acquisition, deployment, and maintenance of counter-UAS assets. Utilising physics-aware modelling along with live environmental data, it assists decision-makers in configuring systems for optimal protection and reducing unnecessary shutdowns.
The system also features dynamic vulnerability mapping that continuously adapts to changes in terrain, infrastructure, spectrum conditions, and interference, thereby ensuring readiness and resilience.
Integration and operational resilience
BRO integrates seamlessly with existing airport command-and-control systems or serves as an independent real-time recommendation layer.
Its capabilities include high-fidelity simulations, analytics, and AI-driven recommendations, enabling operational teams to visualise real-time defensive coverage, swiftly identify performance issues, and implement corrective actions.
This optimisation-centred approach reduces disruptions, supports regulatory compliance, and speeds up the process of returning to normal airport operations.
