Global Traffic Technologies, LLC (GTT) will give delegates to the EMS2017 event in Copenhagen this month a chance to find out more about the Opticom Emergency Vehicle Pre-emption (EVP) system. Opticom provides drivers of emergency vehicles with priority control that enables green lights during emergencies.
Navigating through congested intersections
Opticom EVP allows ambulances and other emergency vehicles to navigate congested intersections more effectively, resulting in improved response times and a reduction in accidents. Emergency vehicles equipped with Opticom communicate with traffic signals via a purpose-built radio based on their known location via GPS.
During emergencies, vehicles request green lights to ensure their safe passage through the intersection. At EMS2017, delegates will be able to discover just how effectively Opticom can help speed first responders to or from the scene of an incident, avoiding the danger of evading cross-traffic and the delay of manoeuvring past vehicles stopped for a red light. GTT’s EVP solutions are deployed globally, in the Middle-East, Europe, Australia, and the Americas.
Incident management
Richard Eltze, GTT’s Vice President for EMEA Markets, says, “We are very excited to discuss Opticom EVP with the delegates at EMS2017, and to give the European EMS community the opportunity to find out just how much of a difference priority control can make when it comes to incident response.”
EMS2017 is a unique annual event held by the Emergency Medical Services Congress, bringing together scientists, emergency responders and other professionals to discuss innovations and creative approaches to all aspects of pre-hospital treatment and emergency medical care. The event takes place May 22 to 24 at the Tivoli Hotel & Congress Centre in Copenhagen, Denmark.
GTT’s Opticom EVP solution has been shown to provide in excess of a 25% reduction in response times. GTT will be exhibiting at Stand 28 during EMS2017, where delegates can learn more about GTT and Opticom, watch videos showing systems in operation, and ask questions to staff.
