|HDcctv Alliance announces China Security & Surveillance Technology joins as charter voting member|
HDcctv Alliance™, the global security industry consortium established to manage technical standards for HDcctv equipment interoperability, announced today that China Security & Surveillance Technology, Inc., a leading provider of surveillance technology, has joined the Alliance as the only Charter Voting Member in the People’s Republic of China.
The aim of the Alliance is to guide standardisation efforts and promotion of HDcctv. HDcctv-based systems transmit HDTV signals digitally over conventional CCTV media without packetisation and without any perceivable compression latency.
“CSST recognised uncompressed, non-packetised HD as a strategic technology in 2007 and has been working on it ever since,” said Zhou Yuesheng, president of CSST Product. “As a Charter Voting Member in the HDcctv Alliance, we will take full advantage of the opportunity to rapidly bring HDcctv technology to the market." CSST’s Product is comprised of six subsidiaries: HTS (CCTV cameras), Stonesonic (LCD monitors), Minking (Speed Domes), Higheasy (DVRs), Longhorn (Anti-Intrusion Alarms) and Coson (Access Controls).

As an HDcctv Alliance Charter Voting Member, CSST plans to manufacture and sell HDcctv-compliant security products along with other Alliance members, drawn from component and equipment manufacturers worldwide, including other Charter Members Comart System, EverFocus Electronics Corp, Gennum Corporation, Ovii, and Stretch Inc. All Voting and Adopting Members have early access to HDcctv draft specifications for development of next-generation HDcctv products without having to wait for the final specification.
As a Voting Member, CSST will play a key role in the development and approval of the HDcctv Specification, contributing technical expertise and support to promote the adoption of HDcctv.

In addition, at ASIS, The HDcctv Alliance will participate in an HD Video Surveillance Panel moderated by Sam Pfeifle, editor at Security System News, Wednesday, September 23, 2-3 p.m., Booth 1861, Hall C.
The HDcctv Alliance is open for registration in three membership categories at www.highdefcctv.org, which are:
• Individual membership for system integrators, installers, and security professionals
• Company membership for security equipment providers, semiconductor and optics manufacturers, and security distributors to create or integrate HDcctv equipment into security applications
• Government membership free for individuals who work in law enforcement, national security and defense
