Designer and manufacturer of portable EX-lighting and power distributions systems, Atexor, will be delivering an industry leading whitepaper at this year’s highly acclaimed HazardEx (UK) International Conference and Exhibition. The renowned event, to be held on 28th February and 1st March in Cheshire, offers an abundance of opportunities for networking with attendees ranging from government agencies, regulators and certification bodies through to safety managers and senior engineers from the high-hazard and process industries.
Tarmo Rintala, Atexor’s Senior Technology Manager will be presenting the whitepaper at the conference with the company also taking an exhibition stand at the high-profile event. The individual paper—produced by author Ron Sinclair MBE—will provide insights, as well as deliver recent research and real-world applications, on the problems surrounding widely discussed LED luminaires.

Electrical standardisation for LED luminaires
Speaking about the comprehensive papers Derek Scott, Head of UK Sales at Atexor said, “The company is a leading designer and manufacturer, known for reliable deliveries, high quality and the ability to solve customers' challenges in demanding time schedules. As such, we are firmly in a position to be offered fantastic opportunities, such as this, to research and comment on focused thoughts and findings that can be relayed and discussed with like-minded industry experts.” With over 20 years’ practical experience in export sales and marketing, as well as standards and directives relating to Atexor’s unique SLAM lighting products, Tarmo has been the Senior Technology Manager at Atexor for over four years. Tarmo will be delivering the white paper focusing on the technical issues and safety standards required when designing luminaires containing LEDs.
Ron takes the two editions of IEC 60079-28 that focus on the protection of equipment and transmission systems using optical radiation and highlights the technical issues that were widely discussed, focusing specifically on the problem surrounding luminaires containing LEDs and why safety standards need to be applied to these. Ron Sinclair MBE is SGS Baseefa’s Technical Manager and chairman of BSI Committee EXL/31, responsible for the UK input to both European and international standards for electrical equipment for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. He is chairman of Cenelec TC31, represents electrical standardisation interests on the European Commission’s ATEX Standing Committee and chairs the IECEx Service Facility Certification Committee.
We are very much looking forward to the conference and delivering our thought-provoking white paper"
Ensuring industry compliance
Tarmo Rintala added, “We are very much looking forward to the conference and delivering our thought-provoking white paper. We are able to share our facts, developed from extensive research, on the current safety standards surrounding luminaires containing LEDs which to date have seen many found non-compliant to required industry standards.”
HazardEx (UK) 2018 Conference and Exhibition, sponsored by the CSA Group, is to be hosted at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Runcorn with workshops, a networking dinner and awards ceremony taking place over the course of the two-day event.
