BWA’s digital video recorders DiREX-Pro

DiREX-Pro DVRs are suitable for transfer even on low bands such as WLAN, DSL, ISDN or 3G/UMTS/HSPDA, EDGE and so ideal for mobile use.  The frame rate adjusts itself to the available bandwidth - with consistent video quality.  However, local recording is always at full speed and so video data can be completely restored.  Automatic email notifications triggered by sound, movement, alarms and power failure or pre-timed are all possible – complete with picture attachment. DVRs come with three separate networks – Ethernet (with DHCP support), USB-A (WiFi-USB), USB-B (direct connection) – all of them grant access to both live transmission and to previously recorded data for multiple users simultaneously without thereby impeding local recording.  The integrated user list with three-level access protection enables flexible administration, for instance of new team members with temporary involvement in a project. With its build-in shock sensor and massive -20° to +65°C operation range, the Pro.A30 model is ideal for use in cars, lifts and even outdoors.  The DiREX-Pro.A30 easily handles even the most sudden and rapid of temperature changes.  The time is synchronised by GPS data acquisition, next to which are shown the coordinates, speed and direction as subtitles on the video picture. Key features: 4 Video inputs / 2 audio inputs memory consumption (w/o video analysis): approx. 4-7 GB/day triplex operation via TCP/IP, internal Web server FIFO recording for continuously operation embedded system (LINUX), non-PC based OS and video encoder located in flash memory resolution: 384/448/512x288 pix., display: 800x600 fast Ethernet and USB-A/B interfaces PTZ control via RS-485 with presets RS-232 for alarm inputs/outputs, sensors video sensor with user-selectable masking email by camera sabotage, power fail etc. opt. software modules (GPS logging, FTP server etc.) HDD temperature monitoring, fan-less operation small and dust protected aluminium enclosure

Thanks to the excellent video compression of the DiREX-Pro series (4-port encoders with integrated DVR), recorded data can easily be saved on a USB data storage stick.  This "Plug-and-Play" USB solution offers many advantages compared with ordinary HDD frames. The day's agenda on a keyringThe USB flash memory stick solution is especially suitable for transport applications and also shift work (cash desks, workshops, etc.).  The video, audio or GPS data is simultaneously recorded onto the internal automotive HDD (Pro.A30 version - learn more) and the flash memory.  By means of an optionally available RS-232 alarm box, the employee can use a 'panic button' to set alarm marks for later data analysis.  At the same time, the system can save appropriate status reports inside which are transmitted either immediately by 3G/GPRS channels, or later via an Access Point wirelessly to the central office. If size matters...The external USB memory is recognised by the DVR as an independent data disk drive and, thanks to FIFO ring memory (also like the internal HDD), can be set for continuous recording.  The embedded Linux OS allows management of up to 2 terabytes, which together with DiREX-Pro.120 (120GB version - learn more) DVR, provide an extremely long recording capacity.Key features:High video quality at low bit ratesMPEG-4-based compression (4-7 GB/day)4 video, 2 audio channelsExtended temperature range (Pro.A30 version)Intelligent Video Analysis (18x24 areas/channel)Onboard webserver for remote viewing of live and recorded data (incl. multicast & access control)Efficient transfer at low bandwidth – WLAN, DSL, ISDN or 3G/UMTS (adaptable dynamic bit rate)Low power consumption (max.generated: 30BTU/hr)HDD temperature monitoring, fan-less operationPTZ control with presets and toursWiFi and GPS support

The BWA-UDOCK1 is a unique, swappable HDD memory system offering all the advantages, which are expected from a hard disk data medium: ultra-high-speed, high memory capacity and immediate access to data. An extended input voltage range, power supply output and USB screw-locking feature allow for industrial use in many mobile applications. It uses HDD cartridges from Imation Inc., available in capacity from 160 up to 500 (or 640: Q4/2009) GB via Imation partners.BWA-UDOCK1 is enclosed in fan-less aluminium housing with rugged screwed connectors (USB and power input) and provides following unique features:Enhanced, rugged motor-driven load mechanism;Extended power supply range from 9 up to 15 V DC;Adopted firmware for Linux using with DiREX-Pro DVRs;S.M.A.R.T. support.Even by continuously video recording with DiREX-Pro DVRs, it is possible to exchange the data carrier during operation - easy and without data loss. As soon the eject button have been pressed, the writing processes will be stopped, opened files closed and the data cartridge ejected. This activity is displayed by LED flashing. A new HDD cartridge will be recognised automatically and recording continued.More about BWA's environmentally toughened DVRsImation's Odyssey™-Extreme cartridges are exclusively available via BWA Technology and offer for professional video recording in variable outdoor conditions. Odyssey™-Extreme is a rugged, pocket-sized removable hard drive with extended temperature range and write protection switch.Advantages compared to common used SSDs:Over the years proven and known technology;Unbeatable low prices at high capacity;Extended temperature range (-30 ... +85 °C);Almost unlimited number of write cycles;Relatively simple data recovery;Standardised S.M.A.R.T. failure prediction. Thanks to the rubber-like encapsulation of the cartridges, they are resistant against drops of up to one meter and vibration specification is improved by approximately 3-5 times, compared to ordinary 2.5" HDDs.
