The presentation will be a logical step for Axis Communications to expand its expertise in IP technology to market for access control
At Essen 2014, Axis will be presenting access control solutions jointly with its partners Nedap and Entelec

Because video surveillance is associated ever more closely with physical access control systems, it is a logical step for Axis Communications to expand its expertise in IP technology to the market for access control. Just in time for the Security Essen 2014 trade fair (23-26 September 2014), the world market leader in the field of video surveillance presents the AXIS A1001 network door controller, a brand new product for selective admission control, specifically designed for smaller offices, industrial companies and the retail sector. Thus the Swedish high-tech company impressively demonstrates on its 30th anniversary once again that right from the start innovations have been among its strongest growth factors. Axis will be present at Security Essen 2014 in Hall 2.0, stand 311.

80% of customers from the fields of video surveillance and access control would like to see a sensible integration of these two systems (BSRIA World Security Report). With its entry into the market for physical access control systems, Axis now has the unique opportunity to offer its partners and end customers a holistic solution for the entire video surveillance spectrum up to selective access control.

Access control from the IP video market leader

Announced just in time for Security Essen 2014, the AXIS A1001 Network Door Controller and the integrated software Axis Entry Manager meet the specific needs of small to medium-sized companies with up to ten doors and basic access control requirements. The decentralised, intelligent IP solution enables simpler, more flexible installation and scalability than traditional systems. The integrated non-proprietary software eliminates the need for a central control unit or a server. For larger and more sophisticated equipment, the AXIS A1001 Network Door Controller can be used in conjunction with a partner’s software solution to fulfil more complex tasks, such as the integration of video and intrusion detection technology.

Axis’s presentation at this year’s Security Essen focuses on the motto 'The power of 4'. In addition to the new 4K cameras, this also includes a new software version of the AXIS Camera Station 4.0 as well as an expansion of the product portfolio - currently consisting of cameras, encoders and accessories – to encompass access control, adding a total of four hardware solutions. In addition, Axis is celebrating its 30th anniversary as it embarks on its fourth decade.

Axis’ stated aim is to offer in future a holistic solution model for the global surveillance market, hence 'one solution for all users'. This is also supported by our co-exhibiting partner, IPS Intelligent Video Analytics. At the fair, this manufacturer of video products will present the latest video analyses. In addition to i-LIDS (primary detection system) certified IPS Intrusion Detection, our partner is also showcasing the modules IPS Motion Detection, IPS Sabotage Detection, IPS Loitering Detection and IPS Indoor Detection for Axis ACAP cameras and encoders.

In the field of 'Video Surveillance as a Service', Morphean AG will be presenting its innovative cloud-based video surveillance solutions at the Axis booth. Morphean AG has been active in this market for more than ten years and is very familiar with the needs of users. This advantage is further enhanced and expanded through the partnership with Axis Communications (Axis video hosting provider). Hence customers are able to benefit from state of the art solutions at attractive prices. Moreover, with the help of Morphean, the AXIS A1001 Network Door Controller will also be available via cloud services.
