Hikvision introduces a powerful new AI-driven search capability aptly named AcuSeek.

A new benchmark in video investigations and forensics, AcuSeek saves security professionals hours and makes it easier than ever to locate and queue captured video of specific people, vehicles, and key events simply by typing a description into a search bar.

For example, to locate video of “a person in a red jacket carrying a backpack” or “a black SUV,” simply type the description of the event, person or vehicle into the search bar, and AcuSeek locates and queues all related video footage that fits the description of what users are searching for.

Comments from Hikvision VP of Marketing

"AcuSeek solves the longstanding challenges of manually finding and viewing video footage of interest on systems of any scale,” said John Xiao, Vice President of Marketing, Hikvision USA.

"Instead of navigating complex filter systems and scouring through large volumes of recorded video, AcuSeek employs advanced AI software to automate and accelerate search processes from hours or days into seconds.”

Efficient solution

AcuSeek has proven to reduce video investigations that previously required 45 minutes of manual review to under 10 seconds

Based on Hikvision’s innovative large-scale visual and language models, AcuSeek has proven to reduce video investigations that previously required 45 minutes of manual review to under 10 seconds.

This dramatic boost in accuracy and speed allows security personnel to better identify, mitigate, and analyse potential threats.

Initial availability of AcuSeek

AcuSeek will initially be available as a value-added feature to Hikvision’s advanced AcuSeek NVR (model iDS-9632NXI-M8/X) updated with the latest firmware, and leverages powerful GPUs and deep-learning technology on-device for maximum privacy.

AcuSeek layers with the AcuSearch high-precision target identification engine on Hikvision Acuseek NVR for advanced search operations, including:

  • Tracking suspicious individuals
  • Finding lost individuals, and lost and found investigations
  • Motor vehicle incident tracking
  • Behavioural monitoring

This powerful dual-layered approach enables rapid event detection, faster resolutions, and better security decisions.

Ensuring data integrity

To best ensure data integrity, AcuSeek processes all search requests locally, keeping every byte of data within the user’s network, unlike cloud-based search solutions that export footage for analysis.

AcuSeek scales seamlessly across the extensive ecosystem of Hikvision professional security solutions including 4K cameras to capture high-resolution event detail, ColorVu cameras for full-color imaging day and night, and the company’s powerful HikCentral Professional enterprise and HikCentral Lite SMB management platforms.

Further adding to its overall value, AcuSeek has no licensing fees and/or external bandwidth limitations.
