Hikvision demonstrates latest products and technologies at IFSEC 2017

Hikvision, a supplier of innovative video surveillance products and solutions, exhibited the latest in surveillance technology at IFSEC International 2017 at the ExCel Centre in London. The theme of the stand was Pioneering AI Technology for Video Surveillance. The event is the largest security exhibition in Europe, and welcomes everyone in the security industry from manufacturers to end users.

Hikvision demonstrated its latest products and technologies that can be used in a wide variety of applications. The event was also an opportunity for attendees to see cutting-edge advances in surveillance technology, including a brand new product and an innovative new set of technologies that come out of the ‘Deep Learning’ concept that is sweeping through the IT industry.

Among the products on show were:

DarkfighterX – the next level of night surveillance

Hikvision has created the next level of night surveillance with the latest upgrade of its Darkfighter technology – the DarkfighterX series. Taking inspiration from the way the human eye works, the dual-sensor technology can provide colourful, sharp images right down to the lowest light levels – in fact to 0.001 lux. It is particularly useful in applications that require 24h full-colour images, like cities - streets, squares and parks; outdoors - rivers and forests; critical sites – secured borders; and transportation – railways and ports.

Pioneering AI for the security industry

Hikvision is looking to the future with the development of new technologies and capabilities, based on the Deep Learning technology sweeping the video surveillance industry. Exciting new capabilities such as recognising human behaviours and identifying car models will be coming to new Hikvision products soon. And that’s not all - Hikvision developers are constantly working to push the boundaries further, so watch this space.

Ecosystem Partner Program

In recognition of the value brought about by their partners and building on their success, Hikvision launched a new Ecosystem Partner Program at IFSEC. This is an exciting new initiative to broaden and develop partnerships in the field of collaboration and integration, and mutual business development. For example, NVIDIA and Intel, the two biggest chipset brands, are key strategic partners to support and help Hikvision to explore the Deep Learning benefits in the CCTV industry.

Turbo HD 4.0 – a new revolution for the analogue world

Hikvision’s new Turbo HD 4.0 range, which boasts ultra-low light performance and the ability to send power as well as 8MP video images over conventional coaxial cable, will be available from Q3 2017. The latest-generation Turbo HD 4.0 products also take advantage of Hikvision’s revolutionary new H.265+ video compression technology, The cameras are equipped with Hikvision-patented Power over Coax 2.0 (PoC) capabilities allowing users to transmit both 4K video images and power over the same coaxial cable, for faster, simpler and less expensive installations using existing infrastructure

H.265+ - Stunning bandwidth and storage efficiency

The Hikvision H.265+ codec optimises H.265 encoding technology. With H.265+, video quality remains the same while radically reducing transmission bandwidth and data storage capacity requirements. H.265+ will cut storage costs, make the fullest use of surveillance video investments, and broaden the use of 4K and ultra-HD security video. H.265+ also optimises Darkfighter technology, allowing hi-res files to be transmitted and stored.

The Hikvision stand was bursting with innovation, also including products from the Non-CCTV portfolio, including access control and products and solutions from Hikvison’s recent acquisition Pyronix. There were also demonstrations of Hikvision’s drone product and information about a wide range of Hikvision products and solutions.

Future of Surveillance panel

Hikvision was also invited to take part in the IFSEC Conference – specifically, Andy Coles, Hikvision’s Key Account Manager for the UK & Ireland, will join other industry figures on a panel discussion about the future of video surveillance. This will include AI Deep Learning and its use in vertical markets and the importance of security ecosystems in the industry.
