The 9th annual Global Digital Solutions Forum (GDSF), held concurrently with SecuTech Expo 2010, explores IP surveillance trends, benefits and applications.

GDSF Asia 2010 invites world-class security providers to discuss security developments. The forum's theme, Driving IP Convergence, focuses on integration's role in changing security.

The event opens with a speech from Microsoft. It delves into how Microsoft uses technology to drive its operational security model globally to protect people and assets. There is also a much-anticipated panel discussion on video standards from the HDcctv Alliance, PSIA and ONVIF. This is the world's first time to put three major video standards bodies on the same stage to discuss the future of video surveillance. Australian integrator VideoControlRoomwill share its findings from real-life tests of various video analytics solutions, highlighting user concerns and purchasing criteria.

This year's GDSF comprises leading brands' presentations. Top-notch IP solution providers such as Pelco, Axis Communications, DVTel and Koukaam are invited to demonstrate their practical solution offerings. Also, the forum will explore high-definition (HD) video surveillance. HD video has emerged as a key trend, but real-life implementation faces barriers. The advantages of HD cameras versus megapixel, HDMI output and transmission will be covered by Panasonic, Arecont Vision, Seagate and Hikvision. Management software enables an integrated and timely response. These converged platforms enable situational awareness.
