HID Global, a provider of trusted identity solutions, has announced that the power-rankings for web technologies of the year, based on independent research conducted by the technology survey company W3Techs, have identified IdenTrust as the fastest-growing digital certification authority in the world.

IdenTrust has issued more than 33% of all SSL certificates worldwide and protects 15.2% of all websites in existence. IdenTrust digital certificates provide critical security services to secure the identities of people and things, as well as supporting real-time validation of Internet traffic on a scalable, software-as-a-service platform.

Protecting IoT with manyfold connections

Independent acknowledgment of IdenTrust as the fastest-growing certification authority validates our strategy of combining IdenTrust into our IAM identity platform and the value of our digital certificates,” said Brad Jarvis, Vice President and Managing Director, IAM Solutions with HID Global. “By reliably and seamlessly handling this rapid growth, we have demonstrated our platform’s ability to scale to the requirements of the industry’s most challenging environments such as protecting the Internet of things with billions of connections.”

IdenTrust is helping to create a trusted environment that will turn the IoT into the Internet of Trusted Things

The continued rapid expansion of mobile as well as the rise of the Internet of Things (IoT) will drive the increased adoption of digital certificates. IdenTrust is helping to create a trusted environment that will turn the IoT into the Internet of Trusted Things (IoTT) and add a digital certificate to every mobile device that does not currently have this higher level of trust.

Effective risk management

HID’s IdenTrust digital certificates are recognised by government agencies, global financial institutions and corporations around the world. IdenTrust products enable organisations to effectively manage the risks associated with identity authentication, work interoperably with countries around the world, minimise investment in creating their own policies and legal frameworks, and ensure trust in the identity of a person or thing.
