Spica aims to have several tier one partners, including systems integrators, specialists in workforce management, HR and ERP, and security installers
Spica also announces plans to launch in the UK market and build network of partners and installers across the country

Spica International, a leader in workforce management solutions, including access control and time and attendance (T&A) software and hardware, has announced plans to launch in the UK market. The Solvenian technology pioneer, which integrated NFC (Near Field Communication) technology into its systems as early as 2007, plans to build an impressive network of partners and installers across the country within the next 18 months.

A recognised leader in its own country, as well as across the Middle East and Adriatic region, Spica has more than 3,000 customers in 25 countries, including a number of organisations in the UK market.  Focused on designing and developing its own software and hardware solutions, including its unique modular approach to workforce management, the company already has an established UK partner, Permatek, and also works closely with leading technology providers, such as HID, Morpho, Assa Abloy and others.

Spica aims to have in place several tier one partners, including systems integrators, specialists in workforce management, HR and ERP and security installers, across six main geographical regions in the UK. The company is also recruiting partners with specialist vertical or market expertise, including manufacturing and knowledge of industrial and factory systems.

Andrija Pušic, founder of Spica International, and head of the company’s R&D in Ljubljana, believes the UK is a market ripe for growth: “We have spent many years getting it right in other parts of the world, designing and installing thousands of access control and T&A systems. We are keen to capitalise on the popularity and growth of workforce management and also biometrics-based identification technologies in this market.

“Spica’s heritage is firmly rooted in designing and delivering superior, technology-driven products and solutions"

“We’ve been very successful with our first partner Permatek, but our goal now is to have a number of high-performing, dedicated partners in place over the next two years – and hundreds of Spica installations.”

Exhibiting for the fourth time at the IFSEC show this year, which showcases the leading security products and companies from around the world, Spica (stand C35, Hall 4) will be demonstrating its brand new access control architecture. The company will also be showcasing its flagship product, a comprehensive and fully integrated solution for access control (Space) and workforce management (Time).

Nick Jakowiw, Managing Director, Spica Solutions Limited, adds: “Spica’s heritage is firmly rooted in designing and delivering superior, technology-driven products and solutions. Research and development and technical expertise are at the heart of everything the company does. We are fortunate to have a team behind us that is also incredibly supportive and responsive and we believe that this will also be a key factor in our successful growth into the UK over the next few years.”

Nick Jakowiw, Managing Director, heads up the Spica UK team, supported by Rob Howland, Export Sales Manager.
