 HID on the Desktop™
HID on the Desktop solution allows for easy log-in for all users and eases the installation and implementation for IT departments

HID Global, the trusted leader in providing solutions for the delivery of secure identity, will be exhibiting its logical and physical access portfolio at Infosecurity, from 28th-30th of April. HID Global will showcase a broad variety of Identity and Access Management solutions at its stand E22.

This year's highlight is the HID on the Desktop™, which makes it convenient and cost-effective to combine physical and logical access control. It is a three-component solution, consisting of a reader (OMNIKEY® readers), a card (HID cards) and software (naviGO™) that allow for secure log-on Windows® to a user's PC or laptop. HID on the Desktop is available with three different HID cards - Prox, iCLASS® or Crescendo - offering different levels of security and accommodating different organisation's needs. The HID on the Desktop solution allows for easy log-in for all users and eases the installation and implementation for IT departments.

A key innovative component of HID on the Desktop solution is naviGO software, which extends the Windows authentication model to include HID PROX and iCLASS contactless cards. In addition, naviGO allows card-holders to manage their own enrolment, establish and manage their PIN and provides Emergency Access via Knowledge Based Authentication-all through a self-service application. naviGO also supports PKI based credentials including digital certificates on HID's Crescendo™ smart cards.

Unlike other multi-factor authentication solutions on the market, HID on the Desktop provides the end-user and the administrator with the use of a single card for both physical and logical access.

"Organizations implementing the HID on the Desktop solution will see significant improvements in terms of cost of ownership, ease of use and speed of deployment against other complex authentication methods on the market," said Anthony Ball, senior vice president, Identity and Access Management (IAM), HID Global. "Never before has it been so easy to have convenience meet security on the desktop."
