Availability of Seos-capable enterprise applications continues to grow as new embedded solutions partners join HID Global’s ecosystem in third quarter of 2014
The ecosystem enterprise applications encompass solutions for a broad and growing range of cases

HID Global®, a worldwide leader in secure identity solutions, recently announced the addition of new strategic partners who have joined the company’s Enterprise Application Partners program during the third calendar quarter, further expanding the ecosystem of available products that are powered by award-winning Seos technology.

“Our application partners are extremely excited by the potential of Seos technology as a common standard that establishes privacy and trust in the communication of secure identity data on cards, smartphones and wearables,” said Kerry Reid, Vice President of Embedded Solutions with HID Global. “As of the quarter’s close, there are an additional 10 Seos-ready enterprise products and applications that can recognise and trust an HID Global secure identity using Seos technology.”

The ecosystem of Seos-capable enterprise applications encompasses solutions for a broad and growing range of user cases, including PC login and authentication to IT systems and cloud applications, secure print job collection, cashless payments for point of sale and automated vending, building access, opening door locks, elevator access, parking access, and time and attendance management.

Partners joining the Seos ecosystem in the third quarter of 2014 include:

  • Jetmobile, which has combined its SecureJet solution for VDI, BYOD and serverless secure printing, strong authentication and active cost reduction with HID Global’s family of PKI smartcards and dual-frequency, multi-technology access control readers, powered by Seos.
  • Ricoh China, which provides its customers with a wide variety of solutions for secure print authentication.

SecureJet Enterprise from Jetmobile fully leverages HID Global’s PKI smart cards and proximity card capabilities: “Our multivendor Seos-capable SecureJet Enterprise solution allows large enterprise companies to ensure printed and scanned documents don’t fall into the wrong hands, and it actively reduces costs, whether documents come from a PC, a MFP, a mobile device or a server. It provides strong authentication, PKI encrypted printing and emails, secure BYOD mobile printing and rules-based printing to printers and MFPs of all brands,” said Jean-Francois d'Estalenx, CEO of Jetmobile. “The high security Seos technology is a key part of our vertical industry secure printing connectors for Banks and Insurance, Oil & Gas, Public Sector, Healthcare and SAP printing, all available from Jetmobile across the world.”

“Ricoh China has been an HID Global partner for many years, for secure print authentication solutions that support colour and black-and-white MFPs in our MP and MPC series printer line,” said Michael Ke, Manager, Technology Center, Sales Strategy Department with Ricoh China Co., Ltd. “We have worked together closely to help our customers take control of document production with a cost-effective, hardware-free system that enables them to simultaneously control copier and printer access, manage account codes, track use, increase user mobility and minimise waste. By making our solutions Seos-capable, our customers can now also benefit from the interoperability and enhanced security of this important new open standard for credential technology.”

Seos technology has been adopted across HID Global as its standard to establish trusted and private communications for secure identities. Seos technology is chip-independent, enabling it to be easily ported across different hardware devices of different manufacturing origin. An HID Global secure identity including a Secure Identity Object® (SIO®) can be loaded onto a Seos-ready card at the time of manufacturing or provisioned to a Seos-ready phone via HID Mobile Access. HID Global’s secure identities provide an additional layer of trust over and above the protection offered by the underlying card or phone.
