HID Global, a worldwide leader in secure identity solutions, recently announced it has added an entry-level model to its FARGO Direct-to-Card (DTC) printer line that provides an easy-to-use, plug-and-play, more affordable solution for printing credentials with low per-card issuance costs. The new FARGO C50 printer is ideal for small- and medium-sized businesses, retail organisations and educational institutions who want to eliminate the long waits, shipping charges and issues around flexibility of outsourcing their credential issuance needs to a service bureau.

“The C50 printer brings the trusted quality of HID Global’s FARGO printer solutions to the market at a price point that enables small- and medium-sized businesses to enjoy Genuine HID reliability together with the easiest possible out-of-the-box experience,” said Craig Sandness, vice president of product marketing, Secure Issuance with HID Global. “The printer includes everything that is required to quickly and easily create full-colour, personalised credentials, without having to buy or install any additional components, accessories or software. Its affordable hardware and consumables make the C50 direct-to-card printer the ideal introductory solution for emerging markets and smaller organisations, while enabling virtually anyone to print their own credentials whenever, wherever they desire.”

The compact FARGO C50 printer is designed with simplicity and efficiency in mind, and includes features such as an all-in-one printer ribbon and card-cleaning cartridge that is easy to replace and reload when required. The printer also includes HID Global’s highly intuitive Workbench diagnostic utility that automatically monitors printer health, provides instant system status, and lets users know if and when routine maintenance must be performed. The printer’s built-in Swift ID badging software makes it easy to create personalised IDs, and the printer is also interoperable with HID Global’s Asure ID card personalisation software for additional design, database management and technology card encoding capabilities. The C50 printer can also be used with the company’s EasyLobby Visitor Management Software, which enables users to create and issue secure guest badges.

The FARGO C50 printer is fully interoperable with other products in the Genuine HID ecosystem, enabling organisations to leverage their existing technology investments. It is also backed by online and telephone technical support, and a two-year warranty.
