Lenel Systems International announced the release of OnGuard® 7.0 – the next generation of its leading security management platform with a host of feature enhancements including faster and improved enterprise cardholder replication performance, new features and certifications for end users, and added integrations with other leading third-party and UTC Building & Industrial Systems brands. Lenel is a part of UTC Building & Industrial Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp.

“We listened to our value-added resellers (VARs) and end customers and incorporated many of their ideas into this significant new release to make our industry-leading OnGuard platform even better,” said Ross McKay, director, product management, integrated solutions & advanced services, Lenel.

Delivers near-time cardholder replication

As a result of a new service-oriented architecture (SOA), the Lenel OnGuard 7.0 platform now delivers near-time cardholder replication, providing a significant increase in speed that will directly benefit the largest and most globally distributed users. Cardholder updates are automatically delivered to their target within seconds of changes being made.

Enhancements for the U.S. government segment include support for IPv6 on both Lenel Access and Security Series hardware platforms; extended user ID, which allows support for large-format government IDs such as FASC-N/UUID; and integration with HID Global's pivCLASS® Government Solutions to provide “authentication at the door” for government credentials.

IPv6 functionality beneficial for customers in Europe, Middle East & Africa

Additionally, 7.0 certification for FICAM FIPS-201 is planned to be available shortly after release (FICAM certification is already available with OnGuard 6.6). The IPv6 functionality is also beneficial for customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, while the other added features are only applicable for the US market.

The OnGuard 7.0 platform has further been enhanced with the addition of new and improved integrations with UTC Building & Industrial Systems product lines that include the Edwards® EST3 life safety control platform, TruVision® digital video recorders and network video recorders – supporting the TVR 11, TVR 41 and TVR 60 DVRs and the TVN 20, TVN 21 and TVN 50 NVRs –– and Otis Elevator Company’s CompassPlus™ destination management system controls. OnGuard’s video platform, LNVR 7.1, also incorporates a number of new and integrated features requested by VARs and end users.

Other new features in OnGuard 7.0 include:

  • Archiving to a secondary database
  • Improved monitoring usability and FIFO alarm handling
  • Alarm acknowledgement instruction hyperlinks
  • Updated support of Casi firmware and hardware migration options
  • Interface capability for ASSA ABLOY Aperio® wireless locks
  • Integration with Allegion Schlage AD-400 Wireless and AD-300 Hardwired Locks
  • Compatibility with EDGE EVO® from HID Global's Network Access Control Solutions

Strong video interface with support for more than 350 third-party cameras

OnGuard users continue to benefit from a feature-rich solution that includes Web-based applications, a strong video interface with support for more than 350 third-party cameras, and Lenel’s Open Access Alliance Program with more than 120 partners and 200 product interfaces. The open-architecture design seamlessly integrates a full suite of security management technologies designed for each user’s specific needs – from a small four-door business to a globally dispersed enterprise.

“The OnGuard 7.0 platform has been field-tested and is proven to meet the demands of VARs and large system users,” McKay said. “For customers still using earlier versions of OnGuard, upgrading to 7.0 brings many new features and benefits – in addition to enhancements made in the last two service pack releases in 2014.”

OnGuard 7.0 is available now through Lenel value added resellers throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa.
