Hanwha Techwin unveils Wisenet X Plus camera line at GSX 2018

At GSX 2018 in booth #2341, Hanwha Techwin America, a global supplier of IP and analogue video surveillance solutions, will unveil the new Wisenet X Plus camera line. With a focus on modular design, the X Plus series is one of the fastest cameras to install, service, and upgrade saving installers time and money. X Plus cameras also feature in-camera audio messaging playback, extended temperature handling, removable colour skins, and PTRZ (pan, tile, rotate, zoom) for ultimate flexibility. “The X Plus series combines the best of Hanwha Techwin X series technology with the convenience of complete modular design,” said Paul Kong, Technical Director, Hanwha Techwin. “X Plus series cameras utilise magnets to lock sensor modules into the housing for instant configuration. Electricians can run conduit with a single PoE (Power over Ethernet) connection to the housing or backplate, without the camera module, allowing security professionals to snap the camera into place after the job site is clean in just minutes.”  Wider area coverage with 85 degree tilt angles New features enable pre-recorded audio messages to be triggered by in-camera analytics, which are played out of the camera’s audio out connection Camera modules are available with options such as PTRZ, IR, and a heater. Housing choices include indoor, outdoor, and a new compact plenum-rated flush mount. Removable skin covers available in white, black, and ivory allow easy changing of colours to blend in the décor of the room. Custom painting is also made easy since the skin easily separates from the camera. New features enable pre-recorded audio messages to be triggered by in-camera analytics. These messages are played out of the camera’s audio out connection. The audio files are stored locally on the camera’s SD card. Additional highlighted features: Increased operating temperatures from -58 degree to 140 degree F (-50 degree to 60 degree C) Tilt angles increased to 85 degrees for wider coverage with low ceilings PTRZ enables view changes remotely simplifying installation and additional adjustments New gyro-sensors provide shock detection

Milestone systems releases Device Pack 9.9 update for XProtect VMS to support new hardware

Milestone Systems, the provider of open platform networked video management Systems, releases Device Pack 9.9 for partners and customers using Milestone XProtect video solutions. The bi-monthly device packs contain software updates for XProtect VMS to support new hardware. 209 new devices have been added to this release, bringing the total of supported devices to more than 7,500. Milestone works closely with device manufacturers in the Milestone community to achieve optimal interaction between their devices and XProtect VMS. The same rigorous testing applies to driver standards like ONVIF - a priority for Milestone. Authentication of devices Automated retrieval of recordings from devices with edge storage is another new featureThis Device Pack has a particular focus on cybersecurity for ONVIF. Support has been added for more types of security certificates. This enables better authentication of devices. Automated retrieval of recordings from devices with edge storage is another new feature, primarily aimed at body worn cameras. When a body worn camera is docked, XProtect can detect it and download high-quality video recordings from the device’s internal storage. Enhanced security mechanism Before ONVIF-supported devices are listed in the supported hardware list, they have been tested to ensure 100% functionality with the XProtect open platform technology. This enables the Milestone community to pick the best devices for their end-customers, from the market’s broadest selection. They can be assured of the functionality of any supported device. We have added support for SRTP to Bosch cameras, with an enhanced security mechanismWe have added support for SRTP to Bosch cameras. Secure Real-Time Protocol (Secure RTP or SRTP) is an extension of the RTP protocol, with an enhanced security mechanism. It provides encryption, authentication and integrity verification of data and messages passed through the RTP-based communication protocol. Intelligent Axis cameras We have increased XProtect support for intelligent Axis cameras: we have expanded event-detection in selected camera models, enabling users to use a wider range of events in XProtect. Extended support for Axis Camera Application Platform has also been enabled in XProtect 2018 R3, Milestone’s last Product Update this year. Several models of Hanwha X-Lite cameras and encoders are now fully supported. The efficient H265 video compression has been added to the support of Soliton body worn cameras.

Hanwha Techwin to unveil Wisenet Q series cameras and QRN NVRs at GSX 2018

At GSX 2018 in booth #2341, Hanwha Techwin America, a global supplier of IP and analogue video surveillance solutions, will unveil the Wisenet Q series line of affordable cameras and NVRs. Scheduled to become available in September 2018, the Wisenet Q series is an affordable professional product line that offers simple and essential features that are ideal for small to medium-sized applications. Improved Bandwidth efficiency up to 75% The Wisenet Q series offers a range of 24 indoor and outdoor dome cameras to meet the needs of a variety of customers looking for sharp and clear image quality at an affordable price, including retail, banking, offices, transportation and more. Available in 2MP and 4MP resolutions, the Q series cameras are packed with innovative features including: Multiple lens options (2.8mm to 6.0mm lens) as well as motorized and manual vari-focal lenses Hallway view for monitoring vertical shaped areas Improved bandwidth efficiency with WiseStream and H.265 (using WiseStream technology and high-efficiency video coding (H.265), the bandwidth efficiency can be improved by up to 75% compared to current H.264 technology) Defocus detection - helps recognise when an image is out of focus True 120dB WDR (wide dynamic range). Built-in IR on all Q series cameras PoE (Power over Ethernet) powered The QRN NVRs support Hanwha’s WiseStream compression technology to improve bandwidth and storage efficiency for high-resolution images Support for UHD 4K images The new QRN NVRs provide high-performance recording solutions yet cost-effective options for smaller installations such as offices and retailers. Customers can save on both installation costs and time by using the Wisenet Q series together with the new Q series PoE NVRs (Network Video Recorders). The PoE ports negate the need for the provision of separate power cables and plug points for each camera or the need for an external PoE switch. The new NVRs are able to support the display of ultra-high definition 4K display images via their HDMI output ports. This means users also have the alternative option to display 4 x 1080P images in quad mode. Just like the cameras in the Q series, the QRN NVRs support Hanwha’s WiseStream compression technology to improve bandwidth and storage efficiency for high-resolution images. The QRN-410S 4 channel models each have the capability of 40Mbps network camera recording. The 8 channel QRN-810S models can record up to 80Mbps, while the 16 channel QRN-1610S models can record up to 128Mbps. Featuring Automatic Recovery Backup By using the metadata from the cameras, the new QRN NVRs can improve the searching methods of the archived videos. Users can search the metadata via Smart Search, Virtual Lines, and Enter/Exit boxes. These features can be used in combination to reduce the amount of time needed to search for any specific motion-related events. The QRN NVRs provide support for the latest version of the Wisenet Mobile App by using a QR code for each of the connected cameras Should there be a temporary network fault preventing the streaming of captured images to any of the NVRs, an Automatic Recovery Backup (ARB) feature automatically and seamlessly feeds the missing images from the respective cameras’ SD card when the network connection is re-established. This ensures there are no missing gaps in the recording of what could be important evidence of an incident. Compatible with Wisent WAVE VMS The QRN NVRs provide support for the latest version of the Wisenet Mobile App by using a QR code for each of the connected cameras. NVRs can easily be added to the Wisenet Mobile App list by simply scanning the QR code with a smartphone. Notifications are automatically ‘pushed’ to authorised users via the Wisenet Mobile App when an alarm is triggered by sensors, motion detection and/or a variety of analytics including enter/exit direction, virtual line and camera defocus. The QRN NVRs are fully compatible with Wisenet WAVE VMS (Video Management Software), an extremely easy-to-use and scalable software solution that maximises the efficiency of Wisenet network cameras and provides the option to seamlessly monitor, expand, and scale its systems.
