Hikvision AOV 4G Solar Camera Series for Off-Grid Video Security

Product Profile

Hikvision has introduced its AOV (Always-On Video) 4G Solar Camera Series, designed to deliver continuous, reliable video security in remote, off-grid environments.

Solving Key Market Challenges

Traditional 4G solar cameras often rely on PIR motion detection, which can miss events, trigger false alarms, and suffer from power issues. These systems typically enter sleep mode when no motion is detected, leaving critical moments unrecorded.

Hikvision's AOV technology addresses these gaps by keeping cameras active in an ultra-low-power state, enabling true 24/7 continuous video coverage.

Always-On Video Technology

Unlike PIR-based systems, AOV uses intelligent frame rate control to optimize performance:

  • Static scenes: Records at 1 frame every 2 seconds to save power
  • Event detection: Instantly switches to 15 fps for smooth, detailed footage

This ensures complete footage while reducing storage needs to about 1/30 of standard full-time recording.

Advanced Power Management

Each camera includes a 9000mAh battery, supporting up to 7 days of operation without sunlight under typical use (50 alarms/day, 10 minutes live view, 10 PT operations). Paired with efficient solar panels, the system performs reliably across diverse conditions.

Seamless 4G Connectivity

With built-in 4G, cameras can be deployed without network cables—perfect for temporary or remote sites. Simply insert SIM and SD cards, power on, scan the QR code via Hik-Connect, and view live footage instantly on a mobile device.

AI-Powered Detection

AI-based visual detection enhances accuracy by identifying people and vehicles, reducing false alarms and ensuring critical events are captured.

Ideal Applications

The AOV 4G Solar Camera Series is built for use in:

  • Farms, orchards, ranches, and tea plantations
  • Residential backyards
  • Temporary construction sites
  • Any location lacking power or network access

"AOV technology represents a major leap forward for solar-powered cameras," said Rubio Hong, Product Director at Hikvision. "It allows users to capture every moment continuously—combining reliability, efficiency, and ease of use in one integrated solution."
