Arecont Vision

Arecont Vision, the provider of IP-based megapixel camera technology, has received two 2016 Government Security Awards (the Govies) in recognition of a pair of innovative new camera products for professional video surveillance and security. The Arecont Vision MegaVideo Flex and the SurroundVideo Omni G2 were each named as award winners on the opening day of ISC West 2016 at the Sands Convention Centre, Las Vegas. Both cameras are on display in the Arecont Vision booth (#8045) April 6 to 8.

MegaVideo Flex

The MegaVideo Flex, a unique and highly flexible compact megapixel camera, received a Govies award as winner of the “Video Surveillance Cameras HD (megapixel)” category.

The true day/night MegaVideo Flex camera series offers a cost-effective security solution for installations that require a more flexible and compact design than other professional security cameras can deliver. Due to its small footprint, the MegaVideo Flex easily fits into a wide range of areas and settings, such as in ATMs (automated teller machines) and other tight spaces. These stylish indoor/outdoor cameras feature a choice of 1.2MP, 1080p, 3MP, and 5MP resolution choices and up to two optional IR illuminators.

SurroundVideo Omni G2

Arecont Vision also received a Govies award in the “Video Surveillance Advanced Imaging Technologies” category for the recently released multi-sensor SurroundVideo Omni G2.

The ground-breaking design offered by the SurroundVideo Omni camera series includes the ability to easily move each of the remote-focus sensors around the magnetic, 70+ placement-point omnidirectional track and multiple lens options. The newest SurroundVideo Omni is the G2, which adds 3-axis gimbals for an increased range of sensor motion for further user customisation of the field of view, and delivering faster frame rates than previous models.

1105 Media, the publisher of GovSec, Security Products, and assembles an independent panel of judges from the security industry assembled each year for the Govies awards.

Award winning features

Arecont Vision was chosen for the two awards based on features, innovation, user friendliness, interoperability, quality, design, market opportunity, impact on the security industry, technical advances, and scalability.

Both Govies were presented in an award ceremony held in the Arecont Vision booth at the ISC West Expo, April 6th. Brad Donaldson, Vice President, Product Development received the awards on behalf of the company.

“The industry recognition that the Govies awards provide to Arecont Vision for both MegaVideo Flex and SurroundVideo Omni reflects the response we are receiving from customers around the world,” said Donaldson. “MegaVideo Flex truly is a flexible choice for compact spaces and discrete applications, while SurroundVideo Omni G2 delivers comprehensive situational awareness across 180o, 270o, 360o, or any perspective in between. These unique cameras address a growing range of professional surveillance needs that benefit our customers.”
