ACT introduces the new ACTpro mifare Card Reader range

Product Profile

ACT has developed a new range of mifare readers which are compatible with the ACTpro family of access control units.  The readers are configurable to read either a mifare card serial number or a sector on the mifare card and the specially designed programming tool in ACTWin pro software allows simple on-site reader set up.  The readers have a rugged and durable polycarbonate housing and can be installed indoors or outdoors, with an IP rating of 67.

Additional info Smart Cards are cards with memory on board that can be read or written to.  A contactless smart card does not need to be in direct contact with a reader.  Instead, it communicates using wireless technology.  Mifare is a 13.56MHz contactless technology that allows one card to be used for many applications.
