|Brasilia Airport will install Aimetis Symphony to 1,000 new and existing analogue and IP cameras
Aimetis Corp., a global leader in intelligent video management software, recently announced that Aimetis Symphony has been deployed as the video management software platform for Brasilia International Airport, the main airport in Brazil’s capital city.
Aimetis Symphony provides the airport with a single platform for upgrading the existing CCTV system to operate over an IP network, and a scalable system to easily add new network cameras to the airport as needed. The system is also the largest installation in the region using the latest technology in edge-storage capabilities available in network cameras from Axis Communications.
"The ability to leverage the intelligent video management software and the results we can gain is an essential element of our airport physical security strategy," said Maria Alice Duarte Sobrinha, IT Manager, Inframerica Brasilia Airport. "When assessing the products that are present in the market today, we chose Aimetis Symphony™ from other software platforms because of the system reliability and unhindered scalability.”
Aimetis partnered with Redisul, a leading Brazilian system integration company that provided the system installation and project management to deliver a turnkey solution for one of the largest network video management projects in Brazil. "Aimetis Symphony is the centrepiece of our network video solutions offering," said Jorge Heller, Owner, Redisul. "It allowed us to meet all of Brasilia International Airport video management requirements for scalability, performance and price."

Initially, Brasilia Airport will install Aimetis Symphony to 1,000 new and existing analogue and IP cameras, with approximately 20% of cameras running Aimetis video analytics. The number of cameras is estimated to increase to 5,000 as the airport grows and expands.
Brasilia International Airport is the third largest airport in Brazil, handling over 15 million passengers annually. The airport is operated by INFRAMERICA, the largest private airport operator in Brazil. As the nation’s capital, Brasilia is home to many Federal agencies and international organisations. The metropolitan population of the city is over 3.7 million, making it the fourth largest city in the country. Brasilia is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site for Culture and Humanity.
"The transportation segment is one of the key vertical markets where Aimetis solutions add tremendous value to our customers” said Marc Holtenhoff, Chief Executive Officer, Aimetis. “Our goal, together with Redisul, is to help clients like Brasilia International Airport easily migrate from legacy analogue systems to integrated and intelligent IP video management solutions with a single software platform."
