The TA1001DIL active receiver is designed to work over long distances with a passive transceiver/balun or an active launch amplifier.  It should be used to work with transmission ranges over 250 meters.  The TA1001DIL is extremely simple to set up with only two adjustments.  The connector on the TA1001DIL has spare terminal positions for a pair of data wires.
