Videx introduces 5000 Series Eclipse Video Monitor with a memory function

The Videx 5000 Series Eclipse Video Monitor range is now available with a memory function for additional security. The memory card can record up to 512 still pictures from the video camera, showing the date and time of the recording.

Both automatic and manual recording can be carried out. When done automatically, the videophone stores a frame when a call is made - a particularly useful feature for the building owner to set up when away from home in order to record who called and the date and time of the visit. Alternatively, manual recording of a frame is simply carried out by a press of a button during a call or picture recall. When the memory is full, the oldest recording is overwritten. Date, brightness, contrast and hue settings for the images are set via the videophone's on screen display menu.

For access control applications, Videx Security has introduced new ranges of Coded Keypads for applications typically within private sector schools, hospitals, housing and commercial areas. Both standalone and networked versions are available for the control of single and multiple entrances.

From a design viewpoint, the new Coded Keypad range complements Videx's existing ranges of proximity and fingerprint readers. The robust surface mounted keypads all have a compact 92mm x 51mm x 25mm footprint and are available in a standard silver finish or charcoal, white, blue, red and green. With resin potted electronics, all models are IP65 rated.

Backlit for easy viewing, additional user friendly features include three indication LEDs for use during operation and programming. An integral beeper and tactile feel provides user feedback.

Videx Security expands Mini Metal family of access control readers

Videx Security has introduced the BIOC-SW external swipe fingerprint reader as a new addition to the ‘Mini Metal’ family of access control readers which already includes a fingerprint reader for internal use, proximity reader, keypad and touch to exit device. Using capacitive swipe biometric fingerprint technology, a user simply swipes their finger down the BIOC-SW reader and this verifies if the fingerprint is a match. It outputs the information to the access controller to decide if access should be granted or denied.

Designed for external use, it has a capacity for up to 9500 fingerprints with typical identification taking less than one second. Both visual and audible indication of acceptance or denial of access is included in the form of an internal beeper and halo style tri-colour illumination.

The new compact 6000 Series Videophone from Videx Security is designed for use in conjunction with the established VX2200 digital door entry system and has been created to bridge the price gap between audio and video installations. Suitable for one to one installations through to high rise installations making this a good all round choice for video door entry installations.

The videophone, finished in brilliant white, includes a 2.4 inch high definition colour LCD TFT video screen as well as a number of user friendly function buttons. Videx Security has now added an optional video memory function to its Kristallo video intercoms range for door entry systems. The intercoms can now store up to 128 still pictures and up to 66 fifteen second video clips. The images or videos are date and time stamped and provide an extra level of security for any building occupier. Furthermore, it is possible to copy these images to a micro-SD card, allowing them to be viewed on a PC or card reader.

Picture or video clip storage can be triggered automatically or manually. When in automatic mode, the videophone stores a picture or a 15 second video clip upon receiving a call. This enables the user, whilst away from home, to record visitors who have called, with the date and time stamp showing when the event occurred.

Videx Security has introduced a new VR Vandal Resistant Ex Series keypad to complement the EX keypad range. The keypad features a tough 12 gauge stainless steel fascia, which fits into the company's 4000 Series modular vandal resistant door entry systems. The VR Vandal Resistant EX Series keypad is designed for both external and internal installations and includes backlit metallic keys.
