Vicon unveils a new HD Express NVR for HD network cameras

Vicon Industries Ltd., a leading designer and producer of network video management systems, has introduced a new HD Express embedded NVR series that is designed specifically to provide a simple and cost effective solution for using High Definition Network Cameras.

Installation of the system is simple. The system includes PoE ports for each camera allowing the NVR to provide power directly to a maximum of 16 cameras. The software automatically detects and configures network cameras as they are plugged into the unit. Programming is optional.

The HD Express was designed specifically for High Definition displays (1080P), so the menu and navigation is crisp and clean. The high performance hardware is designed to display all high definition H.264 network cameras simultaneously in real-time. The video can be remotely accessed with an internet browser or a mobile phone application.

The new Surveyor HD 1080p (2 megapixel) features 20x optical zoom and conforms to the ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) specification, allowing it to operate with VMS software from many manufacturers. The Surveyor HD 720p (1.3 megapixel) with 18x optical zoom was introduced in 2011.

Both Surveyor HD models offer high profile, H.264 and M-JPEG compression with multi-streaming, allowing the camera to deliver bandwidth-efficient video for viewing and recording. Features include high-speed, 360o continuous rotation, advanced titling and scheduled tours and presets.
