Basler introduces two IP dome camera models

Digital camera specialist Basler has started series production of two new IP dome camera models. The BIP2-D1920c-dn (Outdoor, AF) and BIP2-D1920c-dn (Indoor, AF) models offer auto focus functionality and deliver real-time video frame rates of up to 30 fps at Full HD resolution (1080p).

The integrated auto focus functionality makes dome camera installation even simpler; the lens can easily be focused through the camera’s web application. With this feature, manual focusing is a thing of the past.

Over and above their audio functionality, Basler's IP dome cameras have a built-in microSDHC card slot for local storage of up to 32 GB of data. This functionality makes it possible to store live streams or single camera images in configurable time intervals on an SD card.

After the series production start of their new CCD box camera models last December, two new Basler IP Camera models with CMOS sensors have followed suit. They feature 720p HD and 5 megapixel resolutions, and a third model with 1080p Full HD resolution is due to follow next month.

The BIP2-1280c-dn high definition model provides real-time video at a frame rate of up to 30 fps using MJPEG, MPEG-4, and H.264 compression. The BIP2-2500c-dn IP Fixed Box Camera model is equipped with a 5 megapixel sensor to record even the smallest image details at a frame rate of 9 fps.

In addition to Theia Technologies' SY110 Fixed Focal Megapixel Lens, Basler will add Theia's two new 5 megapixel lenses as accessories for use with their IP camera product line with their price list update of April 15th, 2011.

With the introduction of the Basler 5 megapixel IP camera model (BIP2-2500c/-dn), Basler evaluated new lenses to take advantage of the full sensor size and selected Theia's newest megapixel offering, the SL940A telephoto lens, to use the full 5 megapixel resolution to deliver excellent image quality.
