Honeywell announced a new release of its field proven IQ MultiAccess Access Management system, which is based on a genuine Client/Server architecture with a high-speed database connection.  This makes the Honeywell ACS-8 with IQ MultiAccess system fully scalable, enabling the support of an unlimited number of workstations, time zones, areas, doors and people.

The IQ MultiAccess ACS-8 solution offers a wide range of access control advantages in a cost-effective system, which can be upgraded to meet customer requirements, making it ideal for both small and large-scale projects.  Access control units already in use such as ACS-2 and ACT can be easily integrated into the networked system.  Together, the IQ MultiAccess ACS-8 access control unit provides an excellent solution for more complex projects.  The system supports up to 65,000 users and can monitor up to four separate doors from just one ACS-8 unit.  An integrated communication module and the wire-saving RS 485 bus technology enable the expansion of the system to serve eight doors, respectively up to 16 readers.

The IQ MultiAccess system also includes “client processing ability” and separate staff data management resulting in economic advantages, since several firms can share the purchase of a system as well as its “location ability”.  This enables a company to have a system comprised of several subsystems at several locations.

Additional benefits include the IQ MultiAccess’s intuitive, easy to learn user interface, encrypted data transmission and storage, connection to biometric systems and an integrated badging facility. 

The new version of IQ MultiAccess (V3) combined with the enhanced version of the ACS-8 access control unit (V6) enables an even greater increase in the performance and efficiency.  Flexible installation options make this system uncomplicated and reliable from the start.  Set-up and management of the corresponding access control authorisation is made easier.

The server redundancy and RAID systems give very high availability of the AC system.  Connectivity is also improved through the incorporation of IQ NetEdit, connection older ACS-1 and current ACT, AC-2 and ACS-8, all TRS time recording terminals as well as the MB-100 intrusion detection central unit.
