A constant stream of end-users and potential sales partners made the ISC West show very successful for the Geutebruck Security team. "Everyone was extremely impressed with the maturity of the product offering" reported Carl Raubenheimer, the company's Executive Vice President. "Interest was pretty evenly divided between all our exhibits but there was universal excitement with our software functionality."

Both the GeViScope and the new GeViStore-IP video server-plus-storage solution support the use of Geutebruck's fast, efficient video encoding which gives normal, latency-free control of PTZs and speed domes, as well as delivering constant picture quality whatever the content. Besides well-known functions such as camera position authentication and dual channel streaming, it also offers lesser known ones such as ‘dynamic live streaming' (DLS) and 'fading long term memory' (FLTM).

DLS establishes a feedback loop to ensure that the only picture data which is encoded and fed into the system is exactly what the display currently needs to meet the user's requirements and no more. It therefore minimizes network load and enables each display server to handle many more streams. FLTM, meanwhile enables high quality video to be retained for long periods using only a fraction of the normal storage capacity. Configured appropriately, FLTM progressively reduces the frame rate of stored footage over time, reflecting the different timescales in which different kinds of event are discovered and investigated, and the gradual reduction of residual risks. It can therefore slash archive costs without affecting utility or security.
