LEGIC® unveils its latest items at the APS Fair 2007

Published on 20 August 2007

LEGIC Identsystems Ltd, world leader in contactless smart card systems for personal ID applications, announces its presence at the APS Fair on 25, 26 and 27 September 2007 at the Porte de Versailles in Paris.  This event allows LEGIC to present its latest items such as the card-in-card solutions for mobile phones and to demonstrate the total company security control thanks to its unique Master-Token System ControlTM (MTSC).

For the first time, LEGIC will participate at the APS Fair 2007 specialising in Security and the Fight against Fire.  This event provides the opportunity for the Swiss company to meet the 200 professional exhibitors and 6,000 visitors (decision makers, end users, manufacturers, consultants) and to present its contactless smart card technology and its most innovative products.

LEGIC card-in-card solutions in order to integrate badges into mobile phones

Promoted for the first time at the CeBIT Fair 2007 in Germany, LEGIC's latest card-in-card solutions will this time be within reach of all French professionals.  The Swiss company has gone one step further with NFC (Near Field Communication) equipped mobile phones, which are now able to integrate contactless LEGIC applications.

Therefore one single and unique card allows several contactless applications to be combined: on one hand, the LEGIC standard applications (including physical access), and on the other, third-party applications for logical access, government ID credentials, credit cards or national ticketing.  Operators are free to introduce new possibilities for their usage.  End users will be able to use their phone in the same way as a multipurpose badge to open doors, pay for items, buy a bus ticket or enter a fitness centre.

LEGIC co-operates with leading smart card and mobile phone suppliers, major network operators such as Swisscom for mobile phone solutions and other leading suppliers in the field of access control as well as vending solutions to develop new use cases and pilot projects.  All are committed to a common pilot project having the objective of integrating LEGIC solutions into mobile phones and ensuring their availability to Swiss consumers.

MasterToken, a unique smart card with a genetic code for total security within the company

The Master-Token System Control is a unique solution in the world that enables a company's security to be controlled perfectly.  Up until now, the majority of companies have been using to a large extent card technologies based on a password, for access control, time and attendance, e-payment and biometry applications.  However, passwords are volatile, and can be compromised easily.

A real technological revolution, LEGIC's MasterToken is a contactless smart card containing an explicit genetic code and not requiring any password.  By creating a single link between card and reader, this genetic code allows security systems to be monitored and controlled perfectly.  Master-Token System Control optimises the control of cards, readers and security systems within the company, representing a defining stage in the history of LEGIC.  To this end LEGIC will hold a speech during the APS Fair 2007, on Wednesday 26th September at 11.00 am: "Contactless Badges - how to make security rhyme with flexibility".

After the success enjoyed at the major fairs in 2007 (CeBIT, IFSEC etc.), LEGIC is betting on France, a market with strong potential, to increase its business activities.
