New technological concept from Kaba links online and stand-alone security systems

Published on 8 August 2006

Under the slogan ‘just link it', Kaba will present user-friendly, networked solutions for access control, security and organisation at the Security exhibition Hall 3, Stand 3-311 in Essen, Germany.

The central theme is the innovative CardLinkTM concept, which is a new functionality within the Kaba exos 9300 access control system.  It enables cardholder details to be registered directly on the badge, rather than centrally in the system, facilitating both stand-alone and online systems to recognise the carrier's access right when entering and exiting premises.

CardLink provides the user with a clear cost benefit, as it makes it possible for non-secured doors to be integrated into a security system without costly intervention into the building infrastructure.

This year, the exhibited solutions will be displayed according to the needs of selected industry segments, including utilities, food, banks, airports and hotels.  These solutions include mechanical and mechatronic locking systems, card readers, time & attendance terminals, an integrated server-rack access solution, and automatic and security doors.  For higher security demands, a biometric terminal will be linked together with a personal interlock (security barrier).

The exhibiting companies include Kaba GmbH, Kaba Gallenschutz and Kaba Mauer from Germany, Kaba GmbH from Austria and Kaba AG from Switzerland.  In addition, selected external partners will present a few practical solutions.
