JVC TFT LCDs selected by Quadrant Security Group for CCTV monitoring at Huntingdonshire District Council

Published on 18 February 2008

Five JVC GM-H40L2G 40-inch TFT monitors can be found at Huntingdonshire District CouncilContinuing a long-standing working relationship with JVC, Quadrant Security Group has installed a large number of the manufacturer's LCD monitors in a new CCTV control room for Huntingdonshire District Council.  Some 37 JVC LCD TFT screens have been used in total, in a newly built and designed facility that monitors 120 cameras across the busy Cambridgeshire town and beyond.

Huntingdonshire Council wanted to move its entire CCTV monitoring operation into a new purpose built building - a process that had to be completed while the existing security system remained operational at the existing site.  Quadrant installed a fully digitised recording system along with operator and supervisor consoles, and arranged 32 of JVC's GD-19L1G 19-inch TFT screens into a monitor wall.  These are configured to show quad displays or any single camera as needed.  In the same facility, Quadrant installed five of JVC's GM-H40L2G 40-inch TFT monitors, integrated with X-View DPX multi image display processors from e-mediavision.com for the flexible multi image display of CCTV video signals.

Ian Moore, Sales Manager of the Public Space team at Quadrant Security Group, says: "This new facility monitors public-space CCTV in and around Huntingdon, and in the nearby towns of St Neots, Ramsey and St Ives.  The main security threats are crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour.  At any one time, two operators and one supervisor are in the control room, and they are delighted with the equipment we've supplied."

As one of the UK's largest independent suppliers of integrated security solutions, Quadrant looks after CCTV in around 90 32 of JVC’s GD-19L1G 19-inch TFT screens are installed into a monitor wall at Huntingdonshire District Counciltown and city centres across the country.  "We've used JVC monitors in many installations," Ian Moore explains, "and have established a very close working relationship with them.  They're a reputable company and the support they provide is excellent."

Phil Wring, CCTV Sales Manager UK at JVC Professional Europe, was integral in arranging the evaluation process and supply of monitors.  "We pride ourselves on the image quality and durability of our LCD-TFT monitors, and the Huntingdon installation is just the latest example of how these qualities benefit end users in 24/7 applications."
