The new Galaxy V-10 Network Appliance delivers full access control and management from a centralized platform to local and remote clients across an end user’s network
System Galaxy Software includes support for a 485 multidrop to facilitate the interface with legacy infrastructure

Galaxy Control Systems, a leading provider of integrated access control, video and security solutions, is showcasing new additions and enhancements to its portfolio of access control and security management software solutions that deliver improved performance and scalability with extreme cost-efficiency here at ISC West.

“The demand for increased security continues to be prevalent across all market segments, as is the requirement to do more for less. Although these objectives seem contradictory, they are achievable as demonstrated by the introductions Galaxy is making here at ISC West,” said Robert Laughlin, President, Galaxy Control Systems. “Our new network appliance and dual reader modules are perfect examples as they enable higher levels of access control functionality with cost efficiencies that make these solutions practical for a wider range of users. This presents a win-win for end users, who can maximize their budgets, and for resellers by creating new business development opportunities.”

Featured products include:

System Galaxy Software includes support for a 485 multidrop to facilitate the interface with legacy infrastructure, enabling users to maintain their existing investment in Galaxy access hardware. Additional enhancements include active directory support to enable real-time identity management, individualized identity-based door access, and the ability to generate specific reports for each screen view or credential holder. Data can be shared with other systems such as time and attendance, visitor management, parking garages and personal messaging. Market-specific features include one-minute door open schedules for education applications along with 100 additional day types. The system accommodates unlimited users and is also accessible from mobile web browsers.

The new Galaxy V-10 Network Appliance delivers full access control and management from a centralized platform to local and remote clients across an end user’s network. The Galaxy V-10 eliminates the need to deploy software on a dedicated PC or workstation allowing system administrators to take advantage of the full-featured functionality of a thick client using a simple desktop shortcut.

The new Galaxy Dual Reader Module (DRM), which is designed for use with the company’s 635 Dual Serial Interface (DSI), is engineered for use with legacy RS485 UTP cabling. It enables multiple readers to be connected in a variety of configurations without the need to run dedicated cabling from a centralized controller, which significantly reduces installation labor and cabling costs for new and existing installations.

In addition to new feature enhancements, System Galaxy Access Control and Management Software also now offers integration with ASSA ABLOY WiFi and Power over Ethernet Locks, further expanding Galaxy’s support for emerging wireless and PoE lock applications.
