IDL launch new Glasswing 1200 at IFSEC

Published on 8 May 2008

IDL will be launching their all-new Glasswing 1200 at IFSEC 2008 on stand 2051 in Hall 6IDL will be launching their all-new Glasswing 1200 at IFSEC 2008 on stand 2051 in Hall 6.  The Glasswing 1200 has an all-new barrier mechanism which offers a higher barrier than the original Glasswing. The 1.2-metre barrier is designed to offer a greater level of security than the 1/2 height version and is designed to deter potential intruders from vaulting over the top of the unit.

"In today's market customers are demanding higher and higher levels of security but they still want aesthetic solutions.  The Fastlane Glasswing 1200 has been designed to meet this requirement in today's architecturally designed corporate office building.  The Glasswing 1200 stays true to Fastlane's design principles of offering a premium product that ensures the fastest throughput combined with the highest levels of tailgate detection and superior intelligence to provide the lowest false alarm rate possible," says Michael Bystram, Sales Director of IDL.

Like the previous version, the Glasswing 1200 uses retracting glass barriers in conjunction with state of the art optical technology to provide a high throughput security gate.  The glass barriers are designed to work in a normally closed mode and retract inside the pedestal after a valid card has been presented to allow the authorised user to pass.

The Glasswing utilises a unique 24-beam IR detection matrix designed to provide a superior level of security, throughput and safety.  The Fastlane Glasswing can detect tailgaters as close together as 5 mm and offers real world throughput levels of up to 1 person per second, and the 8 dedicated safety beams are designed to ensure the barriers do not accidentally hit users.

The Glasswing is designed to provide a larger lane width than the industry standard for speedgates thereby allowing easy access through the system and minimising the chance of damage to the unit from briefcases and other large items.

Fastlane Glasswing can be configured to make the installation compliant with the UK Disabilities Act (DDA) as well as most similar international standards.
