CEM® Systems to secure Domicilium Hosting Centre

Published on 26 October 2007

CEM Systems, an access control brand of Tyco International, announced recently that leading offshore internet service and solutions provider, Domicilium Ltd, has chosen the CEM webEntry II Pro access control system to secure its new 20,000 sq ft headquarters in the Isle of Man.  The system will be installed by ADT.

Domicilium Ltd, designs, builds, installs, and manages secure business Internet solutions for facilities requiring secure online systems such as those necessary in the online banking, e-commerce and e-gaming industries.  Primarily based in the Isle of Man, Domicilium has provided services to offshore e-businesses for over 15 years and offers proven e-solutions for businesses that want to operate in a well regulated low-tax environment.

To provide tighter access control throughout its Isle of Man headquarters, Domicilium required a cost-effective, future-proof and sophisticated card-based security solution.  CEM provided the ideal solution for the client who opted to install the low-cost webEntry II Pro access control system with biometric technology.

"The webEntry II Pro system offered us the benefit of being completely managed using a standard web browser," commented Andrew Cairns, Project Manager, Domicilium Ltd.  "CEM has provided us with an innovative security solution.  With 27 different sites throughout the world, we now have the future flexibility to centrally manage all sites from around the globe," Cairns continued.

"Domicilium's security staff can easily operate webEntry II Pro via its web interface and it enhances staff and visitor security throughout their hosting centre," commented Andrew Fulton, Business Development Director of Tyco International's CEM products.  "This solution is ideal for the medium sized Domicilium building, and allows staff to easily issue ID cards that restrict building access using biometric technology and advanced CEM InfoProx MiFare® card readers," Fulton continued.

ADT installed InfoProx card readers with on-board databases ensuring that only authorised cardholders gain access to secure areas at all times.  They also integrated LG Iris recognition biometric reader devices with the webEntry II Pro system at locations where increased security is required to provide a further layer of security at critical area points.  Staff can now only pass through these secure area points upon a valid card ID and iris biometric reading providing a more secure environment.

The webEntry II Pro system will allow users to control access at up to 64 doors, monitor alarms, control IP cameras, produce ID badges and provide time and attendance reports on card usage, all via a standard web browser on any networked PC.
