D-Tec's CCTV camera-based Video Smoke Detection is shortlisted in the Security Excellence Awards 2008Published on 31 July 2008  D-Tec - part of AD Group - announces that it is a finalist in the International Achievement category of the influential Security Excellence Awards 2008 - promoted as the security industry's 'Oscars'. The company is a worldwide leader in CCTV camera-based Video Smoke Detection (VSD), which analyses images to provide early warning of fire, whether accidental or deliberate (arson).
The shortlisting of D-Tec reflects the growing take-up of its Video Smoke Detection (VSD) solutions in large scale projects across the globe including its IP-based, NetVu Connected, FireVu units in the main tunnel at the famous Palm Jumeirah man-made island in Dubai. Other sites which have benefited from D-Tec's VSD technology, to provide an early warning of fire, range from the Sydney Harbour tunnel to the massive 600 metre wide Royal Airwing Hangar complex at the Dubai International Airport - the world's largest privately-owned aircraft hangar.
