Dedicated Micros confirmed as DVR world leader

Published on 26 January 2007

The latest research findings, published by IMS Research, have confirmed Dedicated Micros market position as the number one supplier of own brand Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) in the global security sector and key local markets.

In the IMS Research report titled ‘The World Market for CCTV and Surveillance Equipment', issued in December 2006, Dedicated Micros heads-up the DVR category with an estimated worldwide market share of 6.9%.

In terms of regions, Dedicated Micros is particularly strong in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), leading the way with a dominant 14% share - way ahead of its nearest rival on 5.3%.  When it comes to all types of video surveillance equipment, Dedicated Micros strength in depth as a CCTV solutions provider, including CCTV cameras, has been confirmed, ranking highly in 3rd place with a 5.6% market share.

Pauline Norstrom, Worldwide Head of Marketing at Dedicated Micros, said:  "We are delighted with the results of the IMS study, which underline once again our status as the world's leading manufacturer of Digital Video Recorders for security applications."

"Looking ahead, we are confident of growing this market leading position, with the constant expansion of our innovative NetVu Connected product portfolio, from entry level solutions to enterprise end-to-end IP CCTV systems such as the, soon to be launched, HighVu Excel range."
