AlwaysON exhibiting at IFSEC 2008

Published on 1 April 2008

AlwaysOn will exhibit its managed private network solution at IFSEC 2008At IFSEC 2008, stand 15138, AlwaysON will be exhibiting its managed private network solution which has been created to overcome the obstacles slowing the roll out of IP technology through the UK security industry, the traditional route to market in the regulated sector.  It will benefit all members of the security industry and BSIA membership.

It provides a totally secure, resilient, private network avoiding open Internet and protected to military levels from intrusion and threats, through the multi million pound creation of a secure core network encircled by its own protection system.  Every packet of information that enters and leaves the core network is checked and verified safe. The dual data centres are installed to the highest BS7799 standards.

The network has carrier connects from over twenty carriers, giving this network the widest reach of any IP network in the UK.  IP services can be carried over PSTN, ISDN, ADSL, mobile, and private circuits.  Bandwidth and contention is never a problem as the solution compensates.

The network is fully monitored and the moment a service is lost, steps are taken to remedy the situation.  Network up time is the best in the industry 99.91% over the previous six months.  Failover to secure G2/G3 mobile networks is available in the event of line cuts, to ensure the signal always gets through.

Compass application provides the most simple way to order, provision, programme manage, service and bill a connection.  Zero-touch plug and play router means any engineer can successfully install and service the installation.  No network skills are required to set up and manage the router which is done from our provisioning centre remotely.  The router is provided with the connection, removing cost and all need to set up firewalls, subnets etc, skills few security engineers possess.

Recurring revenues can be earned by the providing security companies reselling the service.  Own label is also available.  The solution is highly scalable and flexible and means no investment is required in establishing a VPN.  The costs are highly competitive against unmanaged unsecure open connections which offer no security what so ever.

The solution follows the Good Practice Guide issued by the National Infrastructure Security Co-Ordination Centre on Telecommunications Resilience, which calls for all high-risk applications, e.g. security to be carried on a private VPN, not on a corporate or general network or open Internet.  Already chosen by major security companies, government departments, integrators,  infra-structure providers, retailers, banks, developers, consultants and other Internet providers as the network of choice for secure applications.
