Avigilon's surveillance system at the Dallas Love Field Airport sets benchmark for advanced security systems

Tour of Dallas Airport to highlight new Security Operations Centre featuring the Avigilon HD Surveillance System

Avigilon, the performance and value leader in high definition (HD) and megapixel video surveillance systems, announced that one of its flagship customers, Love Field Airport in Dallas, Texas, is being showcased to a delegation of airport executives from Latin America. Sponsored by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency and managed by the American Association of Airport Executives, the Dallas Love Field airport tour will provide delegates with the opportunity to learn about successful airport modernisation projects, including the development of advanced safety and security procedures and environmental standards as well as upgrades to airport ground services and maintenance practices.

Avigilon high definition surveillance and the Love Field Modernisation Programme

The Love Field Modernisation Programme (LFMP) will renovate and expand Dallas Love Field airport, creating a cohesive, modern facility that will serve the needs of Dallas citizens and travellers for many years to come. The LFMP renovations include a new centralised concourse with 20 gates, a remodelled lobby, expanded baggage claim area, and a new ticketing wing.

The modernisation programme also includes the installation of a new state-of-the-art HD surveillance system from Avigilon. The first phase of the Modernisation Programme included the replacement of two existing surveillance systems with the Avigilon HD Surveillance System, the installation of encoders to leverage the airport's existing 80 analogue cameras, and the addition of more than 40 new Avigilon megapixel HD cameras. Future phases will replace all analogue cameras with new megapixel cameras, add hundreds of new megapixel cameras, and eliminate the two remaining separate surveillance systems.
