Genetec, a pioneer in IP security solutions and a technology leader within the physical security industry, recently announced that it has extended for the next five-years its business partnership with Security Engineering Consortium Inc. (SEC) as a value-added distributor in Latin American and the Caribbean.  With increasing worldwide presence, Genetec recognises that this affiliation with SEC will support its international growth strategy, as it will be key in providing innovative IP security solutions to these markets.

In order to accommodate the demand and leverage business opportunities in all the countries located throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, SEC has developed and secured inter-dependent strategic business alliances with partners including CCSI covering Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, Digita Victor covering Mexico, Sinergit covering Dominican Republic and Haiti, NETBeam covering Colombia and Ecuador, CEO covering Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua, and ILLUMINAT covering the Caribbean, Guyana and Suriname.   Throughout all these regions, the Security Engineering Consortium employs more than 1200 people, where 65% of employees are dedicated to software and hardware engineering, support and other services.

"Within the first 24 months of our business partnership with SEC, we were able to secure projects exceeding 12,000 cameras," claims André Cardyn, Regional Sales Director -CALA at Genetec.  "We are confident that this continued partnership will be equally beneficial as SEC's expertise in integrating physical security systems, information and networking technology and state-of-the-art wireless LAN's and WAN's, helps customers throughout these regional markets to truly maximize the innovations of our IP security solutions."

Selected as an official integrator and supplier of advanced IP-based intelligent video surveillance solutions for all agencies, public corporations and municipalities of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, SEC has already given Genetec and its full suite of IP security solutions tremendous exposure to many other regions throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.

"We are honoured and very excited, that Genetec and SEC's business partnership has been extended for five years and will now cover Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Central America and the Caribbean," claims Abelardo A.  Tous-Mulkay, P.E.I., President and Chief Executive Officer at Security Engineering Consortium, Inc.  "These markets are thriving in business opportunities, and we will maximize them by leveraging Genetec's state-of-the-art software technology and global leadership in the highly complex and competitive IP-Security marketplace."
