Zebra showcases industry solutions at Cartes 2007

Published on 13 November 2007

Zebra Technologies, a worldwide leader in card printing, specialty printing and automatic identification solutions, recently announced its participation at Cartes 2007, the world leading event in digital security, smart card and identification at the Paris-nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre from November 13th-15th.  Zebra will be displaying a wide range of card printers in Hall 3 at Stand number E044, including the new P100i, P630i and F680 digital photo printer.  Also showing on the Zebra stand will be the kiosk printers from Swecoin, a recently acquired Zebra company.

The P100i is fast, easy and affordable

Zebra's new P100i colour card printer makes personalised cards fast, easy, and affordable.  This single-feed printer produces single-sided full colour or monochrome cards and offers a variety of optional features not typically available in a product in this class, such as Ethernet connectivity and Smart Card encoding using both contact smart cards and Mifare contactless cards.  This new printer is fast, small, easy to use and ideal for banking, retail, leisure and education sectors.

The P630i for mission-critical applications

The P630i is extremely feature-rich, meeting the needs of a wide variety of mission-critical ID applications in government agencies, corporations and educational institutions.  The P630i prints sharp full-colour or monochrome cards and then applies a 1.0-mil laminate to one side of the card, creating tamper-resistant credentials that can last five years or more.  Patented liner-less lamination significantly reduces the cost of laminate material, is waste-free and environmentally friendly.

With enhanced reliability, this desktop, full-colour, plastic card printer/encoder is a more affordable addition to the security line of Zebra card printers.

The P630i has a unique range of security options, allowing institutions to build the appropriate level of security for their application.  These security features include customisable holograms and other covert features within the laminate as well as a variety of encoding options.  Magnetic encoding and contact smart card encoding are available as factory-installed options.

An optional ID/key prevents unauthorised printing and an ID Log within the driver can build a customisable record of card transactions in the printer's host computer to prevent someone from accessing the database to create fraudulent cards.

In addition to the USB interface included in all configurations of the P630i, Zebra also offers built-in Ethernet connectivity as a factory-installed option, allowing remote printing and remote encoding.

The F680 for digital photo printing

The new Zebra F680 Digital Photo Printer delivers quality prints to professional photographers and retailers instantly.  Small, lightweight printer provides a faster way to increase sales.

Perfectly sized for on-site photo printing and retail photo kiosks, the F680 prints stunning, continuous tone images with superb image quality.

The Zebra F680 produces 3.5 x 5- or 4 x 6- inch prints in only 10 seconds and 5 x 7- or 6 x 8- inch prints in 19 seconds.  Using an overlay coating, the printer creates borderless, archival-quality prints that are lower paper costs, increased print capacity and less operator intervention.

Weighing just 18 pounds (8.2 kg), the F680 photo printer is easily transportable and ideal for on-site printing, including events, sports venues, conferences, fundraisers, theme parks, cruise ships, and other locations where customers want photographs instantly.  With the F680, photographers can print high-quality photos on-site for immediate delivery and incremental sales.  As importantly, the photo printer's efficient use of media lets photographers spend more time shooting and less time changing paper and ribbons.
