artec technologies and T-Systems sign framework contract: collaboration in the area of IP TV and IP-based video surveillance

Published on 22 November 2006

artec technologies of Diepholz, Germany, (listed as WKN: 520958 in the entry standard at the Frankfurt-based stock exchange) and T-Systems' Business Division of Multimedia Solutions inc. have just signed a framework contract.  Together the two companies will develop and operate a multimedia data and service centre in Dresden and in the future will cooperate in the areas of IP-TV (television over the Internet) and IP-based video surveillance.  For this purpose, artec and T-Systems will exchange information, technologies and resources, develop existing technologies further, and market those both together and independently.

The future Dresdner multimedia data and service centre will be one of the world's largest and will be connected to the data network of the Deutsche Telekom.  The operators will offer customized solutions, services and a broadband transmission platform for "Internet based television", i.e. IPTV.   Another main focus of the service centre will be video surveillance for all.  In the future, private persons as well as companies will be able to monitor their private residences or business operations with one or several digital video cameras without needing any additional hardware or software.   The cameras will have a direct DSL connection that will transmit the images to the Dresdner data centre.  From there, they will be forwarded on to the mobile phone or laptop of the security service or the owner.
