Chiron’s IRIS alarm communication system featured at the Security 2010Published on 6 Sep 2010
Chiron showcased its award-winning technology alongside Security Distributors Australia, its partner for IRIS solutions in Australian markets. Chiron's Managing Director Ian Tredinnick was among the expert speakers at the Security 2010 seminar session (11am, Wednesday 1st September), discussing the latest developments in IP alarm monitoring.
"It offers very attractive advantages to users in Australia, including the ability upgrade from expensive fixed line monitoring to a solution that is more affordable, but also more secure and powerful. It also offers a secure end-to-end solution with no 3rd party servers or costs." Earlier this year Chiron introduced the IRIS Secure Apps system, which has been short-listed as Innovation of the Year in the prestigious Security Excellence Awards (London). IRIS Secure Apps takes alarm monitoring services to a new level, with greatly enhanced control and functionality for all users, including ARCs, installation engineers, maintenance teams and end-user security managers. IRIS Secure Apps is the only signalling system which allows the security manager to directly monitor how well their signals are performing, both real-time and historically. It allows him or her to directly access management reports and conduct audit trails, drilling down into data for individual sites or taking an overview of alarm system performance area by area, or globally. It also allows engineers to install, commission and maintain monitored alarms without having to wait for the direct intervention of a member of staff from the ARC. This makes diagnostics and maintenance much easier and faster. Designed to ‘de-skill' and de-mystify alarm signal maintenance, this is the only system in which functions are broken down into easy-to-use ‘Apps', each dedicated to a particular function. This makes it easy for all users to handle the specific functions which they are entitled to work on. IRIS Secure Apps allows the ARC to grant different levels of secure access to different users. Access can be granted on a time-limited basis if required, with various security levels. It is also the only system in which detailed access can be securely gained via a web-enabled laptop, phone or similar device. "Before IRIS Secure Apps no system fully addressed needs of all the parties relying on remote monitoring, including the end-user, the ARC, the installation engineer and the police," explains Ian Tredinnick. "Our technology not only delivers new benefits to all of them, it lays the foundation for further advances which are already being developed."
