LILIN provide CCTV solution for Rushden and Diamonds Football Club

Published on 3 October 2007

Rushden and Diamonds Football Club were formed at the end of the 1991/92 season following a merger between Rushden Town and Irthlingborough Diamonds. The brainchild of Max Griggs, a local businessman and owner of Dr. Martens, millions were spent bringing the ground, Nene Park, up to and beyond the required standards.

Since the club gained promotion to the Football Conference in 1996, Rushden and Diamonds have risen through the leagues reaching Division Two in 2003.  Following a period of turbulence which has seen a number of managers arriving and leaving Nene Park, Rushden and Diamonds have found themselves back in the Blue Square Premier.  Now with a new owner and new investment, Rushden and Diamonds can look forward to a bright future.

Nene Park has hosted a number of professional engagements including the Dr Martens European Snooker League and regular Sportsman Dinners.

As part of their own security requirements and that of the F.A., Rushden and Diamonds have to provide quality CCTV coverage at Nene Park.  Although a system was installed in 1992, it has since become antiquated and unable to meet the current CCTV standards.

A new system was required which would not only monitor activities within the ground but also view events over the entire Nene Park complex.  This would include car parks, training pitches, function rooms, bars, restaurants and hospitality boxes.

Rushden and Diamonds Football Club approached LILIN, one of the World's largest manufacturers of CCTV equipment, to meet their requirements.  A digital solution was installed to monitor operations from the control room at Nene Park.  The CCTV system allows the instant playback of recorded images and includes an alarm notification, enabling the staff at Rushden and Diamonds to act swiftly in case of an emergency or incident.

The new solution also allows staff to monitor all activities at Nene Park from a remote location.  Accessed via a single web page, the ability to view different areas from one central position provides huge cost and timesavings.  Users can define preset positions, such as the capability to programme and store numerous positions.  With total control of all the cameras at the ground, including full pan, tilt and zoom control, staff can view every camera angle, ensuring total surveillance of all areas of Nene Park at all times.

Using PDR-2160 Digital Video Recorders from LILIN, Rushden and Diamonds Football Club have an advanced and interactive CCTV solution to monitor their day-to-day activities.  Security staff have remote access to live and recorded images, at any time and from wherever they are.  Compact and simple to use, the system is easily operated whilst delivering incredible performance and flexibility.  The solution has already been used to provide evidence to the police, with great success.

The high levels of activity and the large number of visitors to Nene Park have made the LILIN offering a cost effective CCTV solution.  LILIN's products provided the ideal solution for Rushden and Diamonds, offering the functionality to be used in a demanding environment whilst maintaining reliability.
