This ultra-modern addition to the Havila Shipping fleet boasts an advanced hybrid propulsion system capable of operating in several modes: diesel mechanic, diesel electric and a combination of both.
The Vicon surveillance system also pulls double duty; cameras survey both the machine room and the huge on-deck winches used to haul loads, with control keypads and monitors located in the engine room and on the bridge. On the outside, the Havila Venus was designed to ensure stability and buoyancy in even the worst weather conditions. The SurveyorVFT pressurised domes easily meet these requirements, with their protective domes remaining free of fog and condensation even in the harsh North Sea.
