Senstar to exhibit outdoor detection systems at IFSEC

Published on 1 April 2008

Senstar to exhibit at IFSEC 2008Perimeter intrusion specialist Senstar will be exhibiting outdoor detection systems at IFSEC.  Senstar's product line is in use at nuclear facilities, industrial plants, airports, VIP residences, embassies, industrial sites, military installations and prisons worldwide.

The Senstar stand will feature fully-working demonstrations of the OmniTrax, Xfield and DTR-2000 products.  OmniTrax and Xfield are volumetric detection systems, while DTR-2000 is a taut-wire product that can be installed on free-standing or existing fence structures.

OmniTrax generates an invisible electromagnetic field around buried sensor cables and can determine the location of an intruder to the nearest metre.  This covert sensor will be of particular interest to integrators and end-users involved with sensitive sites needing unobtrusive protection.

OmniTrax is currently being installed in VIP residences and other high-security facilities, while Xfield has been used recently at a power station in the south of England.

Chris Norton, Senstar's UK Managing Director, said:  "Recent applications of our products underline their wide-ranging suitability for infrastructure, health care facilities, industrial premises, embassies, borders and high-profile residences."

"Senstar products are being endorsed for general reliability and precise detection capabilities.  Our innovative technology maximises sensor performance and so makes perimeter protection credible to the client."

He continued: "Senstar is uniquely positioned to provide clients with multiple layers of security when needed.  Authorities like British Standards make demands for a ‘double knock' system before police or emergency forces are called.  An example on a perimeter would be Senstar's fence or barrier-mounted sensors on the first level and our buried units as the second, covert trigger."
