Senstar’s µltraWave perimeter intrusion detection system has been installed for the first time in Europe at a prison in Denmark
µltraWave is Senstar's newest generation of volumetric microwave perimeter intrusion detection system

Senstar’s latest product launch, µltraWave, the most advanced digital microwave perimeter intrusion detection system (PIDS) on the market, has been installed for the first time in Europe, at a prison in Denmark.

When asked about the decision to use the µltraWave, versus older technologies, Mr. Hansen, CEO of Sikom, the main contractor for the security system for the respective prison, said: “We were aware that this is a new system, however, based on previous positive experiences with Senstar, we were confident the system had been thoroughly tested and was ready for real world use. We also know that their technical and customer service staff is reliable, should any issues arise moving forward.”

µltraWave is Senstar's newest generation of volumetric microwave perimeter intrusion detection system consisting of an all digital transmitter and receiver that create an invisible detection zone.

This specific application is part of a larger multilayered perimeter system including a double layered fence, with Senstar’s Omnitrax buried cable in the middle. The µltraWave fills a gap as a virtual fence in a gated area; in order to guarantee no coverage holes the transmitter and receiver are located behind a fence.

Mr. Hansen continued, “we were pleased to see how easy the installation and set up was with the existing platforms, it was plug and play and feels like a mature system.”

Senstar’s µltraWave installation in Denmark shows that the Company continues to demonstrate leadership in the market for perimeter intrusion detection security for Correctional Facilities; having announced in December of 2011, over $950,000 in orders into Prisons in both Canada and Australia.
