ISE and PLASA Sign Cooperation agreement.

Published on 26 October 2005

Integrated Systems Europe and PLASA forge strong partnership at Europe’s largest AV Systems Integration tradeshow

By combining the best elements of one of the largest trade communities in Professional Lighting and Sound with Europe’s biggest trade show in Audio Visual Systems Integration, the two organisations will augment their knowledge of AV Systems, Lighting and Sound to turn ISE 2006 into the most stunning visual trade event ever held in Europe.

This collaborative effort is the result of a joint co-operation agreement intended to establish a framework to heighten the awareness and importance of AV systems Integration in the Rental and Staging environment by harnessing the influence and standing of a major trade show with a world leading professional lighting and sound association.

To demonstrate this, PLASA, in conjunction with their publications Lighting&Sound International and Lighting&Sound America, will be organizing the Lighting and Staging Pavilion at ISE 2006.  In addition they will be using their influence in the community to attract other leading companies involved in the Lighting and Staging business.

According to Matthew Griffiths, Managing Director of PLASA, this co-operation agreement has important positive implications for the future of the European AV Systems Integration event.  "The Autumn PLASA event in London is traditionally centered on entertainment & installation technology and draws an impressive global attendance.  ISE is stronger on the other end of the spectrum, getting more AV Systems Integration-related exhibitors and a stronger pan-European attendance.  With this profile, PLASA really complements ISE.  It marks a new day in the relationship between one of the leading trade communities and Europe’s biggest AV Systems trade show, particularly in the Events and Rental business for AV companies.”

Mike Blackman, Managing Director of Integrated Systems Europe added that unifying the two organisations in a joint event of this calibre, will benefit all areas of AV and Staging.  “I feel this is a highly positive step for both our organisations and the industry as a whole.  We, along with our other partners have been working closely with PLASA since the first edition of ISE was held in 2004 and recognise the tremendous role PLASA will play at ISE 2006 and in the future to expand this innovative and emerging market.”

Companies interested in exhibiting at IS Europe 2006, should contact Mike Blackman, Managing Director: Tel: + 49 8102 89640 Email: mblackman@iseurope.org

The third edition of Integrated Systems Europe will be held 1-3 February 2006 at the Brussels Expo. ISE is jointly sponsored by the three leading electronic systems industry associations: the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association ® (CEDIA®), the International Communications Industries Association ® (ICIA®)/Infocomm, and the National Systems Contractors Association ® (NSCA®.  All are international organizations serving a combined membership of more than 8,000 companies and individuals in over 70 countries.

CEDIA® is a global trade association of companies specializing in planning and installing residential electronic systems.

InfoComm International® is the premier trade association for the professional audiovisual and information communications industry, and founder of InfoComm, the conference and trade exposition for audiovisual communications professionals.

NSCA® is the leading trade association representing the commercial electronic systems industry.

PLASA (Professional Lighting and Sound Association) serves the entertainment, leisure and architectural industries.  With 500 members worldwide, it is one of the largest trade communities in the industry, contributing to a market worth £11billion.  Lighting&Sound America magazine is a highly regarded monthly publication for lighting, sound, staging, and projection professionals working in theatre, concerts and touring, clubs, Houses of Worship, corporate A/V, retail, themed entertainment, and more.  Lighting&Sound International magazine, is PLASA’s UK-based monthly flagship publication and serves the broad range of entertainment, presentation, installation, leisure and events industries with high quality coverage of the theatre, touring, club, corporate event, leisure and installation markets.  PLASA also owns the PLASA trade show held annually in London.  The show will run between the 10th – 13th September in 2006.
