IIPSEC 2007 grows 25% as demand for IP increases across Europe

Published on 16 February 2007

IIPSEC again proved to be the developing platform for the rapidly increasing IP market with a busy conference, expanding education programme and exhibition.

Yet again IIPSEC proved the need for a ‘focused technology' and ‘market education event' is strong as visitors traveled from far and wide to see the latest in IP and Network related security solutions.

The event can justifiably boast that the quality of both visitors and technical expertise casts a shadow over more traditional hospitality based trade events.

IPfocus Editor, Paul Hennings confirmed, "...from personal experience and having spoken to many exhibitors and our readership, IIPSEC is considered to be the place to be when there is business to be done."

"Year on year the quality of both visitors and exhibits increases at a pace," he added.

With new faces entering the market and the established businesses in attendance, Media Partners CCTViNFO.COM has spoken independently to a cross section of exhibitors in an effort to understand just how well the event has been received by those investing in its continuing growth.

Event Director and show Organiser Kevin Fagan stated that "clearly the show has seen an increase in footfall but it's also been particularly rewarding this year to see that the education programme continues to develop."

He said:  "It's a clear and definite indicator that the market is really starting to take off. We believe creating a forum for learning genuinely stimulates the sector and that once the knowledge is absorbed the market will meet and likely exceed current expectations."

Conference chair person Peter Manolescue added:  "The conference was light years ahead of last year's event which in itself was a strong programme - the new format and the quality of the speakers shined through.  Interestingly, it is clear from the case studies presented that for medium and large security system users there is a transition towards integrating the system into the operational requirements of the business."

Carl Spencer, Sales Manager of Network Products at Event Sponsor and Exhibitor Norbain SD said:  "This year's IIPSEC show provided us with an invaluable opportunity to find out more about how our customers feel about IP.  As usual, we saw a high quality of visitor, but it also seems that the knowledge base of the installers we met has risen considerably in the past 12 months.  Instead of asking what IP was all about, there were more conversations on its suitability for particular projects they were involved with."

Visioprime's Tim Northwood commented:  "This was our first year at the show and it went well - we generated some good quality leads and will certainly be looking to attend next year."

Mark Thomas MD of TeleEye Europe said:  "We are delighted with the response to the new RX family of products demonstrated at the event and the keen interest displayed by the audience during our IP-in-Action presentation on Management of Construction Sites."

i-Watch UK Managing Director Tim O'Shea said:  "I felt that the event had generated ‘a real and tangible interest' in our European Wide monitoring facility - we met key end users from various sectors."

Co-Vi MD Scott Jones explained:  "It was a very good show that attracted end users integrators and consultants.  Since IP is at the cutting edge of security it attracted a very sophisticated audience."

Amplicon's Product Manager David Evans was very upbeat about their attendance at the show:  "It was clear that the visitors had a definite interest in our specialist server and networking solutions."
