Siemens showcased the latest developments in intrusion detection at Security Essen 2008. Amongst the highlights on this year's stand was the new range of Intrunet SI series system components, nominated earlier in the year for the IFSEC 2008 product awards. The stylish new keypad with integrated tag reader simplifies installation, makes operation more secure, and facilitates multi-partition operation. The slimline key switch and annunciation modules with unique tamper detection - used standalone or linked to the keypad - offer additional security levels and parallel partition indication & operation. Also on show was the new Intrunet SPC series systems, which combine unmatched flexibility and scalability up to 512 zones, with a cost effective design and installation concept. A common range of system components - keypads, smart expanders and modules - can be mixed and matched to expand the system or fit changing security requirements. Ultimate control for higher end models is achieved on site or remotely via the on-board web server, which is unique on the market. A further highlight was the range of Intrunet seismic detectors, specially designed for round-the-clock monitoring of a wide range of safes, vaults and ATMs against theft and vandalism. The unique SENSTEC™ patented sensor technology ensures a reliable and very early detection of thermal and mechanical attacks. With flexible mounting options - inside a wall or surface-mount - the detectors are easy to install and set up, and offer adjustable sensitivity to cater for all applications and environments. All models deliver outstanding false alarm immunity, and facilitate speed of intervention and optimal structural damage limitation. Siemens' in-depth knowledge of sophisticated motion detection technologies comes into its own with a comprehensive range of single and dual technology motion detectors, which are suitable for applications ranging from Grade 2 to Grade 4. Intelligent signal analysis enables the Intrunet range of motion detectors to reliably detect intruders and also discriminate effectively against false alarms. All benefit from an innovative snap-in installation concept which dramatically reduces the risk of contamination during mounting, therefore further reducing the risk of false alarms. |
