HighVu Excel has been created to deliver impressive real time, high resolution DI/4CIF resolution capture, recording and playback, of up to 1024 cameras in a single seamless configuration, viewed simultaneously across 48 monitors. This makes it ideal for high end retail, banking, gaming and large scale multiple site and public space surveillance. Crucially, HighVu Excel is a fully embedded system which operates within the NetVu Connected environment. High definition image capture offers the capability to continually record and playback in real time on all channels - including from IP cameras - with lip-synced audio input available on each camera and no loss of performance unlike some Windows and Linux-based solutions. This makes it particularly suited for applications where a high level of image detail is required to identify suspects. Other key features of HighVu Excel include: - composite and high definition digital output up to WXGA resolution to a main monitor or large scale video wall;
- the ability to operate like a Digital Matrix so any camera can be displayed on any monitor;
- MultiMode Recording, which provides dynamic switching from MPEG4 to JPEG on demand to optimise disk space;
- the ability to mix JPEG and MPEG4 video streams across all monitors and the potential to integrate with Point Of Sale (POS), ATM, access control and building management systems.

The high performance D1/4CIF real time recording of HighVu Excel is made possible by the use of the NetVu Connected dedicated embedded encoding platform based around the latest generation processors from ChipWrights - also part of AD Group. With multiple CODECS working in parallel, each Master Video Unit (MVU) has a massive 600 Billion Operations Per Second (BOPS) of processing power. Looking in more detail at HighVu Excel's unique modular design, it is based around four key elements, - a Master Video Unit (MVU),
- a Video Expansion Unit (VEU),
- a Storage Expansion Unit (SEU) and
- a Monitor Expansion Unit (MEU), with a minimum requirement of one MVU and one SEU for a functioning system.
At the heart of the HighVu Excel system, the Master Video Unit is responsible for system management, configuration and control. This is available in 8, 16, or 32 camera variants with 200 pps or 400 pps options, supports 2 composite or digital monitors, and comes with a DVD writer as standard. The Video Expansion Unit allows additional cameras to be added to the system, while the Storage Expansion Unit provides storage capacity in blocks of 3.75TB JBOD up to a total of 1920 TB for a 1024 camera system. The Monitor Expansion Units extend the display capability beyond the 48 monitors on a 1024 camera system allowing blocks of additional 2 main monitors - digital or analogue - and 8 analogue spot monitors to be connected. Designed from the start to be as flexible as possible, the architecture of HighVu Excel and the application of PowerScript - provides endless integration opportunities through a unique suite of adaptive scripting capabilities - to ensure that integrators and installers can readily combine HighVu Excel with building management systems such as access control and site management functions. |
